Digital signage media player GV3288A-V1

After a rather power surge the display is showing Android for a few seconds and then the display remains blank.I tried firmware recovery by using the reset switch on the board but to no avail.Am I
doing something wrong or is it perhaps that the firmware is corrupted beyond recovery?
