Hello!
I bought 3x PS4 slim in the hope that I can repair all three so I can sell two and have one for free.
All three had the error that no picture is outputed but the LED lights up white.
I have already replaced the HDMI encoder IC and one PS4 is working straight away.
It seems to be a different error with the others.
I have measured everything that I can measure in the installed state. There are 5V, 5.1V, 2.4V, 3.6V, 1V, 2V. I can't see any differences between the working PS4 and the defective ones.
I have measured the HDMI port and all PINs have approximately the same voltage drop to GND.
Very few values are slightly different (I assume this is because there are 3 different revisions (SAF 3 (working), SAF 4 and SAF 5).
Can someone give me a hint what else I can measure? Could the error with the WLOD also be due to something else?
I have also tried to start without a hard disk and without a connected diskdrive. The safe 3 one starts and shows that the hard disk was not recognized.
I have already soldered the HDMI encoder IC from the working board to a non-functioning one and back. All encoders work on the good board and none work on the two defective ones.
Perhaps someone has already had the same error and it was due to something else.โ
