    PS4 WLOD troubleshooting help.

Hello. I need some help with this topic if anyone can give me a hand. So I had a few PS4 already with WLOD, some I could fix(bad HDMI port, bad filters, and some bad HDMI encoders) but whenever o have a bad MN864729 HDMI encoder I'm always struggling. Don't know what I'm doing bad. Not sure if my solder skills just it's not good or if it's something else. Now I have this ps4 fat 1200 series(sac-001) with a wlod. I have checked the port and it's perfect, filters all good, diodes and all SMD components around HDMI encoder and port all seems to be normal. Just missing the encoder itself I already solder a new chip and tried some other known to be good encoders but still no picture. Checked Uart and no HDMI related errors. What I'm missing? I am using too much heat (around 340°C)? The chip seems to be proper solder to the board. Is a fried by heat encoder still gives a good Uart reading? I don't know, I'm about to say no to more wlod repairs with boards using mn864729.

Ps4 slim WLOD not HDMI encoder IC
    by An-klamm
    Hello!
I bought 3x PS4 slim in the hope that I can repair all three so I can sell two and have one for free.
All three had the error that no picture is outputed but the LED lights up white.
I have already replaced the HDMI encoder IC and one PS4 is working straight away.
It seems to be a different error with the others.
I have measured everything that I can measure in the installed state. There are 5V, 5.1V, 2.4V, 3.6V, 1V, 2V. I can't see any differences between the working PS4 and the defective ones.
I have measured the HDMI port and all PINs have approximately...

practical courses for troubleshooting pc motherboards
    by blues_spirit
    Hello from France,
mon2 kindly advised me to post a thread to ask the question(s) I'm concerned about. I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for practical courses for troubleshooting pc motherboards especially laptops in Europe, if possible in France. I have been a computer network system administrator and a corrector of administration modules for automated programs under Unix. But I really miss the practical "ops" side of troubleshooting. So I would like to start from the beginning: 1.8V, 3.3V, 5V and 19V tests for example, etc...
Do you think this is feasible for me? I...

Filters are all good , though 2 of the newer ones are larger then the original ones i dont know if that matters ?
Made sure under the scope encoder pins all look solid went over with fine tip and solder again. Idk but this thing is stressing me out..

    PS5 WLOD EDM-030
    by Fide
    Hello guys,
    I try to repair a PS5 with a WLOD.

At the beginning I should tell that I get a BLOD and after the UART reading and shorts on the caps near by the HDMI Encorder I change the IC. And after the change I get a WLOD. I also noticed that the filters was blown. I change them also.

The caps near by the HDMI Encorder are not shorted now. I also change the HDMI Port.

I get some readings in Diode Mode which doesnt look right to me.

    1. HDMI Pin 18 i get 0.100V and Pin 19 OL
    2. Diode on the back side 0,100V...

GV-N2060OC-6GD REV 2.0 GIGABYTE video card troubleshooting assistance needed.
    by gcrezz
The issue with this video card is the HDMI port. Specifically on pin 19 (Diode checks on all other pins are normal). When i do a diode check on it from the pin on the board itself, I have nothing. There is also no short on the pin. Resistance reads about 200k. Normally on any HDMI pin 19 I would expect some voltage drop anywhere from .5v to 1.2v but here, I have nothing. The card is operational and can be used via the displayPort ports, but not through the HDMI. Attached you will find the pdf schematics for the card on page 22. I have verified that all of the resistors on this line before the...
