I forgot to update the post, but it was indeed one of the fuses on the mainboard that was blown. Thank you for your help!

by reformattI thought I'd throw out some of my personal experiences in the last 12 months with Intel iMacs, 2.5" SATA SSD drives and Fusion drive data recoveries.
As a backgrounder, Apple never fitted a 2.5" SSD's to these iMacs. Apple's SSD option was a system of 32GB NVMe blade drive (NGFF connector) and Seagate 1TB 2.5" HDD, married together in software to become a Fusion drive. Non Fusion systems have just the 1TB Seagate HDD.
So, the most common reason an iMac comes across my bench is because it's either ridiculously slow, or it fails to boot at all. The most...12-18-2024, 10:34 PM -
by eccerr0rOh wow.
As in the other thread I was trying to revive/re-bootstrap an old Apple IIe and wasn't successful reading or writing any disk. Both drives behave similarly.
Then I was wondering, what about my PC floppy drives? I have a HH 5¼" HD drive and a combo 5¼+3½ drive. I tried formatting the disk that wouldn't work in the Apple and it didn't work in the PC either!
Then I tried a HD 5.25 disk ... it won't even touch the disk either! Just like the Apple DD disk, "Not Ready!"
Weird. Seems the PC drive is having trouble clamping...-

by DynaxSCHi,
I have an really very weired issue with ASUS ROG STRIX B550-I GAMING.
Some NVME (PCIe) SSD's are not working correctly in the second M.2 socket. An example of it is the SAMSUNG SSD980 1TB NVME SSD.
Some other NVME (I have only smaller ones) disk do work without any problem, also SAMSUNG disks, eg an MZVPV128HDGM-0000.
The behaviour is also really very strange, i.e.:- The disk shows always up in BIOS - so it is recognized, so far so good
- POST-ing with this disk with fresh Windows 24H2 installation (done in the M.2_1 socket) in the M.2_2 socket

by erbuzzickerHello, I have an HP 15-P013NL with motherboard DAY11AMB6E0. Problem is that DVD drive has not been detected in device manager and so not working. Pin 8 (ZERO_ODD_DP#) in the image below is 0v both optical drive connected and not. R553 (image 2) is 0v on optical drive side and 3.3v on the PCH side, both with optical drive connected and not. I tried to replace DVD drive and DVD drive connector with no results, so i suppose it's a problem on the motherboard. Can you please help me to understand more?...
