LED Lighting Controller - Bad Capacitor? I think?

Hello everyone,

I work on electronics but am probably not the best at identifying things. I have an LED lighting unit which is controlled by the board show in the photos.

This board connects two switches, a charging port and a series of batteries to a 60 LED array.

The "capacitor" that appears to be bad is located between what I have determined to be the charging port and the power switch.

Is this a capacitor? Can I just replace it? I am not sure what voltage, etc? I am not sure on this. Any help would be appreciated in identifying what it is (if it's a cap) and how to proceed.

Those are resistors and they both look burned. Unless you have a schematic, its har to tell the value of them

Rob Northern thank you. I have no schematic of this device. Is there any other way to identify them or to replace them? :-(

If you have an identical board that works properly, you can get the resistor values from it.

Maybe if you supplied a make/model number of the unit, it might jar someone's memory. Unusual that there is no silk screening on the board itself to identify the indiviual components.

Its been my experience that when you run across fried resistors on any sort of lighting control board there is a 90% chance that you also have blown transistors.

From your description, this circuit must be a battery charger, but more info might be good. First determine what function the board is likely to have. It may be a charger. Or, it might be an led dimming circuit. Either function requires that power be switched on and off. The 2 black things with 3 legs are transistors or FET's and almost certainly shorted. Take it from there.
