PS4 CUH-1216B no USB power no 5V usb

Hi, I have a problem with ps4 sac-001 which doesn't get 5v. obviously in safe mode the USB controls don't work, the 5V doesn't arrive. However, I noticed that 5v reaches the chips near the ports (there are two D82044s) but they don't let it pass. I checked with a working PS4 and saw that those two chips are missing 3.3V on two pins. What can it be? Where do those chips get the 3.3v?
    Thank you

You most likely have a dead southbridge if you're not getting any voltage out of the ports.

Does the system boot into the dashboard or are you stuck in safemode? If it is booting into the dashboard sometimes when the southbridge is shot it will give an error popup for either to much power on the usb ports or connected device couldn't be detected even when nothing is plugged in.

I don't have a board in front of me, but if the board has a GL3520 on it that could also be the issue. It's the USB 3.0 hub controller for the board. If it is on the board there will be come capacitors you can check for shorts or you could just try swapping it out if you can get a replacement chip.

I would start with the GL3520 first since it's the easier chip to work with. From my experience I've seen more southbridge issues than GL3520, but I live in an area where lightning strikes are not uncommon and southbridges are very sensitive to lightning surges.
