    the more options the better,
so if your device isnt in one soft - it may be in another.

Re: 8-pin NOR flash and bad flash update for MSI B350

Maybe I should start looking into trying to flash some of these devices without using the CH341A. I just really wish I had a chance to try that flashrom with the MSI B350 board. I wanted to see if it would have worked while the chip was still on the board.

I bet 20 to 1, if I had a way to hook to the jumper, I could have used my CH341A programmer and the software that I currently use successfully, but the pins were short and smaller I think than what I normally use. I think they're the same pins that are on that PICKit programmer clone you talked me into purchasing. I want to find female to female cables that I can plug directly into my programmer and on those MSI boards.

I think they where the same thickness that you find with other header pins, but were really short and maybe closer together. I kinda like single wires better I think, but maybe they make a special header that plugs into the board's JSPI1 pin and then lose ends on the other end of the cable. Some MSI boards have 8 pins, some have 10.

Anyways, next time, I'll check out some of romfiles and see how it works.

[Help] Lenovo Yoga Slim 7-14ARE05 (DA0LS3MBAF0) – 25Q80DVN1G Flash Is All FF, USB-C PD Stuck at 5V
        by ekozeko333
        Hi all,
I’m trying to recover a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7-14ARE05 with board DA0LS3MBAF0 Rev:F. I’ve run into an unusual issue where USB-C PD is stuck at 4.7–5V and the system won’t boot (keyboard lights flash briefly, then nothing).
🔥 The Problem Started After Suspected ESD/PD Fault
I experienced a power issue or ESD event through a USB-C charger
After that, the NX20P5090 power switch was visibly burned and was replaced
Now the PD controller always negotiates 5V @ 2A, even with known-good chargers

Nikon D800 camera - flash don’t work and capacitor don’t charge
        by corrize
        Hello, I'm stuck in troubleshooting…
The flash system works like that : when the (mechanic) flash button is pressed, the flash mecanically pop up, and a circuit buck boost elevate 7v (batt) to 200-300v (?) for charging the big capacitor. And when the photo shoot button is pressed, the capacitor is discharged in the xeon light.

In the D800, there is a first « power board » close to the battery. 2 wires (batt 7v) goes to another little « flash board ». I measured 7v, so ok.
When I press the flash button, it's detected by the system, flash icon appear on LDC display....

Bricked bios from a bad flash/update in a case of NO BACKUP repair question
        by Shadowtuy
So I'm new here and have successfully unlocked a bios using "RCUnlocker" but after that I'm curious on recovery of a bricked bios from a bad flash/update in a case of NO BACKUP.

The part I'm stuck on is my HP backup are a 32,768KB and 16,384KB image compared to a fresh bios from HP at 23,690KB. How would I use the fresh image to repair a flash chip? The guide I'm following just takes the image and flashes it over but clearly there is more to it.

Just looking to expand my knowledge of this since the password removal worked great. Sorry if I missed this being...

        by Kashi1712
        Hello all,

I'm facing a strange issue, I do have my old bios where i can find some information about the laptop SN, build and so on for the DMI encoding.

I did flash a new bios on the laptop and i have tried all the tools found everywhere on this forum and other forums but i'm unable to update all DMI info in the BIOS. I still get an error saying "Warning: Machine is not in committed state".

Could somebody guide me on this or maybe help? I'm really hoping to find a way out of this bios thing...

Fixed: Lenovo P14s Gen 1 (type 20Y1, 20Y2) Laptop (ThinkPad) bricked by a withdrawn BIOS update (r1buj82w)
        by akwky
        Hi!
Went dumpster-diving and found a bricked Lenovo P14S in trash, few weeks earlier. Symptoms - no screen, no POST, no beep, just keyboard LEDs flashing on powerup. Mute button+LED was responding though, and the display self-test was still working (via the key combo Ctrl+Fn+Power held for some seconds, see the Service manual).

Incidentally, Windows 11 have recently started auto-flashing computer BIOS in our region. Even more suspiciously, Lenovo has released a BIOS update just few days before the PC was trashed. About a week later, the BIOS update image has been oficially marked...
