    HP's Milton mobo unlocked BIOS

    This HP motherboard (Milton, SSID: 86E9 A SMVB) is in an HP 290 G3 minitower (Which is under the 280 family), and it has intel's B365 chipset.
    Its current bios is AMI F.32, and all of its advanced settings are locked away.
    Attached is a backup of the currently installed bios made HP's bios update software, compressed into RAR format here: "",
    and three pictures having extra information that can be needed
    .
    I'm in need for Above 4g decoding and ReBAR/SAM to be enabled, which both have been shown to be compatible with this hardware, but HP didn't address them in any of their updates.
    I'll add extra information or edits as asked for in the replies.

      A compatible bios update from HP support is attached along with a backup here:
      Note that I didn't install this update yet, but I think it being a compatible bios update from the OEM itself can make things easier.

          86E9 is the board's number (component according to HP), it's the same in all of the following models:
          HP M01-D0xxx, HP M01-F0xxx, HP Slim S01-aD0xxx, HP Slim S01-aF0xxx, HP 280 G4, HP 280 G5, HP 282 G5, HP 288 G5, HP 290 G2, HP 290 G3.
          They all receive the same bios updates as well, same files.

              In bold is what I later realized to be an incompatible update because it's not for ROM 86E9

                  I want it unlocked as in its advanced settings to show, to show Above 4g decoding and ReBAR/SAM.

                          Hi,

                          I have a serious problem to program the Z590 chipset SRAM with a Management Engine after replacing the chipset.
                          The new chipset is factory new and is not containing any Management Engine. Any attempts to program it into the chipset under Windows ends with a failure (eg. Error 20: Management Engine Device not present, or something similar).
                          Due to the lack of the ME several ports on the board, including all M.2 ports aren't working, booting OS works only on USB. So it's now other way, as to program the chipset with a ME.

                          Usually on ASUS boards it worked...

                          Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
                          With original bios no POST, only LED lights
                          With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
                          Some issues
                          A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
                          B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

                          Things I tried

                          Hello guys,

                          i've got this Laptop from ebay the bios was bricked. I bought it a few weeks ago and flashed it with
                          a CH341A Programmer first (Bios.bin attached) all that went good my bios worked and it booted up afterwards.
                          Now i used it and wanted more memory so i went from a 4 GB 1Rx16 to a 16GB 1Rx8 .
                          But it wont boot up with the new ram stick that i checked before in another laptop then i thought it was a good idea to flash the bios again
                          with the same .bin so i dissasembled the laptop and took out the mobo and flashed the bios again (same way i did it before)...

                          Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

                          Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

                          I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
                          So I thought it was a Bios problem.
                          I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....
