    P4P800S 100uF@16.0v VS. 100uF@10.0v

I'm recapping a few boards at once so I'm trying to consolidate the cap types to keep the item number down. Of all the boards I'm doing the P4P800S is the only one with stock 16.0v 100uF caps, the rest are 10.0v or 6.3v.

I'm not claiming to know everything but I can't see 16.0v being needed (all the boards have these 100uF sprinkled liberally all over so I doubt they carry 12v). And to boot 100uF@16.0v Rubys are 6mm which would be tight on most boards and completely not happening on 2 (10.0v are 5mm and would work on these 2).

As of right now I plan to order Rubycon ZL 10V 100UF unless someone speaks up.

    Thank you in advance.

The best and safest thing to do is to power her up and measure the voltage at these 16 volt caps to see what voltage rating is appropriate.

On a side note, 100 uf caps do not usually fail. Why replace them? Are there any signs of bulging/leakage?

I can't power up this board at this time :/

They add like 4bucks to my cap order I figure why the hell not.

        Hi all!

I just bought a pair of ADS L810 speakers, which I've heard are some of the best speakers from that time (late 70's) into the early 80's. I was super excited to test them out and hooked them up and I was very underwhelmed by the treble. The treble was awfully muffled. I've been doing some restoration work on 70's stereos and a couple of speakers here and there so I am really just a beginner. I do know that capacitors in speaker crossovers filter out the lows to allow only the highs up to the tweeters and mids. Inductors filter out the highs to allow the lower frequencies to...

TCL 43s405 power board 81-PBE045-M02 (PLE100-2A) changed out the cheap caps
        by link626
changed out the cheap HEC caps on my tv power board to a mix of nichicon chemicon and panasonic caps below.

now there's louder buzzing noise from the yellow thing in the upper left corner. (anyone know what that yellow thing does? is that the transformer?)
and the screen flickers in brightness. It's a light flicker, but noticeable.

the buzzing ebbs and flows, like cicadas buzzing.
in similar fashion, the brightness flickering ebbs and flows. the flicker might stop for a minute or two.

these are all low esr caps, and I'm wondering if that might...

LG LED (LCD) TV 50LN5600-UI flashes logo, red LED 3x blink
        by jojo88
This 50 inch LG LED (LCD) TV was given to me not working. Powering it on, the logo flashes once for 1/4 second then black. Front panel red LED blinks 3x (I think... see below) then the LED turns off. TV stays on until I press the Power button again. There is an image on the LCD panel--I press the "Settings" button on the TV and this brings up menus I can see with a flashlight / torch.

(The front panel red error code LED blink sequence is a bit confusing to me. The LED is on when the TV is off. I press the Power button and the LED *very briefly* goes off--maybe 1/10 second--then...
