Sapphire Nitro RX 470 issue with bios / black screen / blue screen

    Hello,

I've gotten myself a supposedly "Sapphire Nitro OC+ RX 470 8GB" in "untested" condition.

When I came home and plugged monitor cable directly in it, my computer wouldn't post with it / no display.

I then pulled the card out, set bios settings so that primary display is integrated gpu, plugged in back the RX 470 and I got into windows.
In device manager the computer could see it, it was recognised as RX 480 with code 43, I immediately thought it's just a bad bios flash, went to Gpu-Z to check what currently is flashed, and found out it's flashed to Samsung 4GB memory..

I opened the card up, inspected memory chips, inspected the board, googled a bit and it turns out the card is actually RX 480 4GB, the seller just put backplate of RX 470 8GB to get more money out of it. I then downloaded original bios for RX 480 Sapphire nitro with 4GB Samsung memory, I wasn't getting code 43 anymore, I couldn't get into Windows at all with original bios.

I tried every bios that would fit my card and I can't get it to post directly with monitor cable plugged into card with proper bios, if I try to boot with igpu as display and proper bios installed, PC would either freeze on windows loading, or blue screen with error such as "thread stuck in device driver", "tdr video delay" or just black screen until it reboots itself. So i'm pretty sure it's hardware problem now, just unsure what to look for next, is it most likely to be a bad memory chip, bad gpu chip or could it be something like a bad resistor or something minor?

Any help or directions are appreciated !

HP 14s-fq1010nm Black screen after BIOS update - cannot downgrade
      by mitchw
Just had a customer bring in a HP 14s-fq1010nm to do some maintenance.
After updating the BIOS to the latest (F.35) I get black screen (no backlight turning on). However the backlight turns on if I connect an external display to HDMI, but when booting to Windows, both displays remain black.
After disconnecting internal LCD, and plugging in external display via HDMI, it works on external.

I tried downgrading it using official method - using an USB drive with older BIOS version, but it fails, saying that the BIOS files are corrupted. I used about 5 different older BIOS versions...

I need Lenovo yoga 6 13ARE05 bios- broken screen and no bright light on keyboard
      by BlueNitesFire
So I couldn't remember my bios password and since it was broken screen, I used to connected to the TV via Type C to HDMI. So I decided to remove the Bios chip and reprogram the Bios chip with ch314a.. when I try to solder Bios on the laptop, one of the Bios leg broke off.. I bought a new blank Bios chip so I can programmed by flashing on the bios.

      Charging led works

Fans do not spin, capslock key does nothing, screen stays black

I would like to program the bios again, to rule out a corrupted bios.
However I run into a size error

The bios chip is a Winbond 25R256JVEN
Used my Xgecu T-48 to read the bioschip (using select chip as type XM25QH256B @WSON8, read somewhere...

      ASUS TP500LA BIOS request/repair/merge?
      by jbonavita
Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
      Some issues
      A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

      Things I tried

1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
      by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...
