I have three power boards for MRI system displays in which _all_ of the caps (those bigger than 6mm) are blown. Okay - the largest one isn't, but I don't necessarily trust that one.
In any case, it's
2 - 25v, 820uf
3 - 25v, 330uf
1 - 50v, 470uf
and the one I'm concerned about:
1 - 450v, 180uf
Here's my problem - (I'll try to post a picture later) - the huge one is a big radial can, Samxon. However, almost all of the replacements I can get at about the same size are sold as 'snap in'. (I've never seen a snap in used, at least, not knowingly).
It's 22mm in diameter, roughly, and 50mm long.
Can I use a snap in, and solder the leads from the old can to the snap in ends? And what the heck is a snap in _really_ used for.
(The cap is lying on its side, thus I can't just jam one in, unless I could get one less than 3CM tall)
Thanks
BW
