connect pins 2 & 4 to tell the motherboard you have front connectors,
the other 2 sense lines are more of a problem because they are probably for switch contacts on the sockets.
maybe they wont matter and you can choose to have front or rear audio in the o.s.

u are trying to connect an ac'97 front panel audio header to an intel azalia hd audio mobo header. they typically arent supposed to be compatible, because of the front panel jack detection on the hd audio header. so some jumper wiring fockering will be needed to get it to work. fortunately for you, tom's hardware forum already has an answer for this: How to use AC97 front panel audio on a HD Audio motherboard?

they even posted wiring schematic diagrams on how its all connected together.

Some BIOSes can switch between AC'97 and HD Audio modes.
It may not be possible to connect line-in though.

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
            by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Help troubleshooting an audio problem with an RCA SGT-250 CED Player
            by samson7point1@yahoo.com
The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.

The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...

Dell AL440LX power on switch circuit help required
            by Powderfanupnorf
Hi Everyone. First official post so fingers crossed I conform and also manage to get photos to work.

So I am requesting some help from anyone who happens to have one of these motherboards to hand and perhaps a multimeter.

My board has a single row of header pins for all the front panel stuff (have seen others where they are grouped together differently so thats no help) and the two pins for the power on switch had been previously repaired and I am trying to make a better repair. There looks to be pad and trace damage and im happy to relocate the header pin/pins to...
