How to remove busted legs off caps still stuck in vp6 mobo??

Desoldered caps on a vp6 but most of the negative legs
completly snapped off inside the holes

Anyone know how to get rid of those things still stuck in the holes
    with no meat on them?

    Thanks

That can be a little tricky sometimes. There are a couple easy ways of doing it...

    1) If there;s a little bit of leg still coming through (enough to get a bite on with small pliers or side cutters), simply heat the lead on the back of the mobo and lightly pull it through the top of the mobo with the pliers.

    2) If the leg is broken off flush with the board, melt the solder and use the dental pick to push it through the board. That's a sure-fire way to get it out.

    3) Use a solder sucker. I don't recommend this unless you have a professional-grade vacuum type. Mechanical solder suckers can damage the board when they recoil.

        Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

        Macbook Air A2179 - Mobo 820-01958 stuck at 15.2V
        by eastcoastcomputing
        Hi there,

I've got this case that puzzles me and I couldn't find any similar case to explain it. Maybe you guys can help?

The computer went to black screen while being used and fan started to rev full speed. It had to be forced shut down. Since then, fires up but no display, no chime and not in DFU.

I took the board out and inspected it with microscope: no visible damage to chips, no liquid damage. I checked all coils: no short.

The board goes to 3.5V, then 5V, then gets stuck at 15.2V.

Tips on how to remove a very stuck memory chip on a GPU?
        by woody-009
        Hi Everyone

I'm after some tips on how to remove a VERY stuck memory chip on an RTX2070. I am a beginner with this size chip so I bought an old non working GTX960 and I can remove and refit the memory chips to that with ease.
So far I have cranked my hot air station to as high as it will go (It says 450C but I have no way to confirm that but its hot... its a cheap ebay unit. And I have a large square nozzle and have tried smaller nozzles.) I cant get the solder balls under the chip to melt. It has taken some flux in under it but still wont move. I have chipped one of the...

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
        by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...
