Hi everyone. i am looking for a schematic and or boardview for a Galax GTX1070 Katana. Ive got 2 of them with issues. One turns the fans on flat out when the driver loads and i cant control it. The other is missing its pex voltage and has a burn mark on a cap on the rear of the card. Both have melted 12v inductors but both still have power though them. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Tips on how to remove a very stuck memory chip on a GPU?
I don't have a board heater. I was just heading it with the station. It just seems weird to me that I can take the 960 chips off with ease but not the 2070. Maybe they changed the solder? Thankyou for the suggestions on the hot air station I think I'll invest in one of those

Tips on how to remove a very stuck memory chip on a GPU?
Hi Everyone
I'm after some tips on how to remove a VERY stuck memory chip on an RTX2070. I am a beginner with this size chip so I bought an old non working GTX960 and I can remove and refit the memory chips to that with ease.
So far I have cranked my hot air station to as high as it will go (It says 450C but I have no way to confirm that but its hot... its a cheap ebay unit. And I have a large square nozzle and have tried smaller nozzles.) I cant get the solder balls under the chip to melt. It has taken some flux in under it but still wont move. I have chipped one of the...

Re: RTX 2060 no display, full fan speed, detected as secondary gpu
after a bit more of a think about it and a double check half of the values dont cross over in gpuz. it is reading my 3090 gigabyte card which is the main card in my pc... should have seen that coming, so back to square 1. i did find a dell vbios for the card but i am unsure if i should do the bios flash without some other tests first. I tried it in my HiveOS mining rig and it comes up as a TU106 card but thats about it

Re: RTX 2060 no display, full fan speed, detected as secondary gpu
i did notice that it had 24000mb of v ram but didnt notice that the bios version coincides with a 3090 that is interesting. i might try and find a vbios for it but tech power up doesnt appear to have one. Maybe just try a few different bios' until one works?

RTX 2060 no display, full fan speed, detected as secondary gpu
Hi everyone,
I need a bit of help with this one. I have an RTX 2060 dell OEM card that has no display, instantly goes to full fan speed and my motherboard beeps twice when it tries to start up but the pc never boots.
I have all voltages on the card 12, 5, 1.8, 1.3 on memory, 0.8 on core and all the main rail resistances seem fine. I have checked the pex reset and that is ok so I'm at a bit of a loss on what to check next.
I tried to run mats/ mods but I am unsure if it completed as the report file looked the same as the last 2070 I did.
I have put it in my main...

Re: RTX3070 not detected/ no display - has all voltages and pex reset question
Thanks for that. I had a look last night and the logic gate is shorted to ground. So I've ordered some and will play the waiting game. I tested my good rtx3060ti Asus dual fan card and A11 has no resistance to ground whereas the 3070 with the ground pin of the logic gate desoldered still has around 300 ohms so hopefully it hasn't fried the GPU. Time will tell I suppose

Re: RTX3070 not detected/ no display - has all voltages and pex reset question
so ive tested the card in a mining riser and i get 0v on pin A11 pex rst coming from the motherboard. Is there anything that is sent from the graphics card to tell the motherboard to switch the voltage on to this pin? i also have 4 ohms to ground on this A11 pin which probably isnt normal

Re: RTX3070 not detected/ no display - has all voltages and pex reset question
Thanks for the reply
I thought that was how the pex rst worked so i may be onto something?
The card doesnt have the u 503 installed and doesnt appear to have been ripped off but does have the 0.05 ohm resistor installed that bypasses the u503, but i will check the u503 pads for 3.3v anyways (i think its meant to be 3.3v, it is on my rx580s not sure about 3000 series) the 0.05 ohm resistor reads 0.1 on my meter which is basically as low as it goes so i assume its ok, i dont have...

RTX3070 not detected/ no display - has all voltages and pex reset question
Hi Everyone
Ive got an RTX 3070 Gigabyte vision oc that i picked up from a miner who said one day it just stopped working. The card isnt detected and has no display, the core gets very warm within 30 seconds and i have all voltages on the inductors
12v, 5V, 1.8V, Vcore 0.7v mem 1.35v and pex 0.9v
My resistances are 5v 0.9k ohm, 1.8v 30 ohm, Pex 6.6 ohm and the rest are normal
any ideas besides dead core?
With the pex reset B11 pin am i supposed to get 3.3v supplied from the motherboard? at the U501 logic gate i am not getting any voltage from the input...Last edited by woody-009; 02-01-2022, 04:36 AM.

rx580 not detected/ no display/ messing with primary card
Hi everyone
I've got a bit of a funny one, I've got an rx580 that is not detected/ wont display. It had all of the voltages needed on the core, memory, memory controller, 1.8 and 1.8 enable but the core wasn't getting warm. I found a 1k ohm resistor that was maybe missing from the pex reset A11 pin (R120 it didn't look like it was originally there but is on the board viewer). Now my core is starting to get warm but its still not detected. I have found that I don't have a 3.3V VDDC_VDDCI_PWROK signal because I don't have a 3.3V VDDC_PWR_GOOD signal to the nc7sz08p5x U1000 chip, I...

Re: GTX1080Ti founders edition diagnosis
Hi guys thanks for the responses.
I have also been suggested to take the bios chip off and the buck converter for the 1.8 and retest the resistance just incase. It's probably dead but I may aswell try. What sort of resistance do you usually get on pin A11? I have a working 1060 I may be able to compare it too if they are comparable?
Thanks again

GTX1080Ti founders edition diagnosis
Hi Everyone
I am after a bit of help with a GTX1080TI founders edition card that isn't recognized by the computer. All voltages are there but the core is slightly warm and gets 0.8v, the memory gets 1.35v, the pex gets 1v, i have 1.8v, 5v and 3.3v. Is there something that i can check to make the core enable? Maybe something in the PEX lines? i cant seem to find a schematic or board viewer that suits.
Resistances are: Mem 45 ohms
1.8v 210 ohms (this may be low)
pex 1v 134 ohms
5v 1.27k ohms
core 0.3 ohms
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Re: Help to identify this gtx1060 6gb graphics card that I am having an issue with
Hi Rich
Thanks for the information, It has been most helpful.
It seems that I am missing my gate signal to my high side mosfet for my memory. I have 0.02v going to the gate where as the same mosfet (same part number) on the Vcore has a bit over 1v at the gate. So I now have 0.02v going to the actual vmem rather than 0v. So progress has been made with the ferrite bead haha.
My issue now is, I need to identify which component is the controller for the vmem high side mosfet....
