    PC Chips MB-810LMR

This is branded as a PC Ware, but is made by PC Chips. Many failed caps on the board. Replaced with a mix of some Nichicon here, some Rubycon there... and a few Panasonic to boot. Pics tell millions of words in this place!

The overall board. Note 12 failed caps by the CPU

Closer of the dead ones. This board is completely outfitted with G-Luxon

    Important ones replaced.

All 1000uf and up caps replaced.

Looks like I know what to look forward to with the M810LR behind me...Been watching it, OST and G-Luxon everywhere, all right.
You know there's something wrong when you open up a PSU and are glad to find Teapos.
Why I don't buy cheap cases!

      Re: PC Chips MB-810LMR

This is a very similar board, just some things layed out differently... also a PC Chips.

Different spot for the ATX connector, one small cap by the USB instead of two, no network, lower section completely different. Okay, so just the caps by the CPU look the same!!!!

Thanks... the nichicon HE make for a very clean-looking recap, don't they? I like them all lined up like that on the board.

Another board that appears to use similar VRM circuitry, the ECS K7S5A:

I knew it was familiar when I started working on this one Maybe it was just common for 462 boards to have that type of VRM layout?

Yup, and even better would be the Nichicon HD lacquer-on-bare-aluminium caps (post-2001). It would look a a vintage tube amplifier :-).

It's common PC Chips VRM layout used on most of their Socket 462 boards. It've also seen that circuit (with that KA7500C controller) on a Socket 754 board but with different layout.

Best place to source RAM chips? 8GB 820-00850 boards to 16GB or 32GB
                        by ugamazing
I'm looking to upgrade several 8GB 820-00850 boards to 16GB or 32GB for personal use. I am curious what the best practice and process is for sourcing new replacement chips, and what vendor(s) you guys prefer? Another question is, how do I find compatible chips and their corresponding part/model numbers? For example, in the 820-00850 schematic, the DDR chip U2600 model listed (EDFB232A1MA) corresponds to 1x32GB chip. Of course, I would need 4x8GB chips to replace the 4x2GB chips currently on the board. How do I find compatible 8GB chips? Is it as simple as searching "BGA178 8GB 2133"...

HP650 G4 - BIOS Chips replaced and now Error „Security Device Problem“
                        by sdi2001
                        Hi,

on eBay I bought two chips for my HP Motherboard to replace the bios due to unknown password protection.

after resoldering both chips everything works fine but start up is slow because after 30s after pressing power on button I am getting the above mentioned bios error.
I can confirm it with OK and then the laptop is booting totally normal into his OS

how can I get rid of this error.
I saw post like this but i am a bit lost what I shall do with this program

                        Hi,
I asking for help on some new WSON8 256MB chips. Please share your experience. I faced error on some new chips on read, erase, write with different programmers. These new chips are not exist in any programmers database. (GD25B256D, XM25RH256, W25Q256JV so on.)
                        I'm using RT809F V.5.0, EZP2023 Pro, CH341A Green

For the exact experience with GD25B256DYIG is RT809F erase the chip under 33sec. This kind of 256MB chip normal erase time is 70-120sec so I think not all the partitions are erased. If I do blank check or reread the buffer says FFFFFF but when I write the correct...

Just archiving everything related to bumpgate since most stuff has disappeared from Google. Maybe people will finally take the time to read some of it and stop shouting "reflow gpu" at every occasion but rather try to understand what the real issue is…
Interesting parts about the failure analysis are "Why Nvidia's chips are defective" and "Why Nvidia's duff chips are due to shoddy engineering"

May complete this post at a later date with more details.
Basically issue is a combination of thermal dissipation of the chip with hotspot,...

After updating motherboard capacitors, what to do next (Asrock K7VT2, SOLTEK SL-75FRN2L)
                        by dragon3x
Hi, I have some 32 bits computer motherboards that need repair, as they fail to
                        power on.

                        Here are some examples :

(N.B. "capacitors" indicated here are electrolytic capacitors located in the onboard
                        switching supply area).
                        (N.B. #2 : I could not find a 3300 microF aluminum-polymer with a higher voltage
                        than 6.3 V.)

1 - Motherboard #1 : this is an Asrock K7VT2 (socket A) that still works well. To put it on test
                        I replaced capacitors with aluminum-polymer.
                        3300 microF/6.3 V. x 4 replaced by 3300 microF/6.3 V. (KYOCERA...
