HP650 G4 - BIOS Chips replaced and now Error „Security Device Problem“

    Hi,

on eBay I bought two chips for my HP Motherboard to replace the bios due to unknown password protection.

after resoldering both chips everything works fine but start up is slow because after 30s after pressing power on button I am getting the above mentioned bios error.
I can confirm it with OK and then the laptop is booting totally normal into his OS

how can I get rid of this error.
I saw post like this but i am a bit lost what I shall do with this program

    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...device-problem

can somebody guide me a bit

    thx
    BR

      by feherhollo
      Hi,
I asking for help on some new WSON8 256MB chips. Please share your experience. I faced error on some new chips on read, erase, write with different programmers. These new chips are not exist in any programmers database. (GD25B256D, XM25RH256, W25Q256JV so on.)
      I'm using RT809F V.5.0, EZP2023 Pro, CH341A Green

For the exact experience with GD25B256DYIG is RT809F erase the chip under 33sec. This kind of 256MB chip normal erase time is 70-120sec so I think not all the partitions are erased. If I do blank check or reread the buffer says FFFFFF but when I write the correct...

      🛠️ MSI GP75 Leopard MS-17E71 – No Display, Deep BIOS/EC Troubleshooting
      by macabook
      Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
      🧩 Initial Issue
      • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
      • External display (HDMI) shows

      by greg.chalk
      Hello,
I updated my pc, from Evga z270 itx to Asus b660-i itx motherboard. In my old z270 motherboard everything whas easy because everything in bios was unlocked (fd, me etc), and could do everything I want.
Now in my Asus b660 everything is locked (except main bios region). I dont mind so much but I want to unlock bios so I can flash a new splash screen (I have done it with my old motherboard).

I made a bios dump with FPT (fptw64 -d mod.rom -bios), I modded it and I tried to flash back
(fptw64 -f mod.rom -bios). I got Error 167: Protected Range Registers are currently...
