we have here several videocards from the ELSA Gladiac MX series and they make a dark picture and in a graphic mode a dark point will result in a whole dark line. Ther are two SMT caps on it but recapping doesn't work. Probably it is a RAMDAC problem. Any other suggestions?
any possibility to repair a ELSA GLADIAC MX?

Re: any possibility to repair a ELSA GLADIAC MX?
Can you post a picture of what it is doing? Are you sure it's not the monitor or vga cable?
I have a similar problem with some older Geforce cards having dark pictures during video playback, but were fine on the GUI. Still haven't figured that problem out. Everything from Geforce 3 and up seems to do it to some degree. I can correct it a bit with the overlay controls, but it never looks right. Overdrives the brighter areas as well.

by ThemiI have this laptop a dell XPS 13 9310
Power on is ok, stuck at dell logo flashing 2 amber and 4 white (link dell service manual) 2,4 Memory or RAM (Random-Access Memory) failure
I believe this is the spec from using micron tool to decode marking
Images of the ram
I am thinking to replace but wondering if there is a possibility to test while in circuit to find the faulty module? I am doubting there is any reasonable test possible while in circuit as most ram ICs I have tested previously, I have done while off board / removed.

by KemerHello, I removed the graphics card from my laptop and I want to heat it in the oven. What I want to ask is, is it okay to heat the card without removing the metal mounting frame on it?
As you can see in the photo, there is a plastic (black) gasket between the metal frame and the card. It sticks the frame tightly to the card.
I previously removed the metal frame while heating it, but it is quite difficult to separate it from the surface it is attached to. If there is no problem, I do not want to remove it.
What worries me right now is the possibility that... -
