    MSI 694D ok to use 16v caps?

    Hi, i'm from Portugal and recently a friend gave me a server system that was not being used.

    It has a msi 694D pro v1 mobo, 2x p3 733, 1 gb ram, scsi card and 18gb hd.
    It was working fine until it started to reset itself, I thought it was the psu, but then searched in the net for this mobo, and found your forum.

    After reading your posts I confirmed that the 2700 caps are bulging and inflated.

    My doubt is if I can use the following caps for replacement:

    2700 6.3v -> 3300 16v
    1000 6.3v -> 1000 10v

    That's what I can find around here.

    Thank you for your support

      Thank you for replying so soon.

      what about 2200 10v instead of the 3300 16v?

      is it possible to replace electrolit capacitors for solid capacitors?

      I'm an architect, I really don't know much of electronic values, but I like to learn by searching e experiment by myself.

        I liked experimenting with myself, but my wife told me I had to quit when we got married.

              I've used 2200uF caps in place of the 2700uF caps many times, it has never caused any issues.

              The biggest thing to remember on the 694D is the C390 mod.

                Hi, I've replaced the 2700 uf 6.3v with 2200 uf 16v.

                The system is stable, both cpus work fine - no more resets.

                The C390 cap looks fine and is normally fitted - minus with minus.

                If I replace it should I invert the polarity? It really seems to be ok.

                Thank you for your help!
