They put a Teapo right under the PCI-E slot while other caps are Panasonic/Sanyo. With the added heat of graphics card (there is no integrated graphics), that Teapo is surely going to die, like happened in this case, causing instability. And with graphics card installed, there is no way to see that capacitor, so you can't even see that it has failed...

If so, then no surprise. Seems like their 8 mm caps just aren't built that well at all.
On the contrary, I have seen Teapo used regularly in HP DC5000 SFF "mini-oven" computers. The 10 mm ones on the CPU high side almost never bulge, even though they do get very hot. And the 8 mm ones further from the CPU don't run that hot, but they regularly bulge. Go figure.
But yeah, Teapo in a motherboard is asking for trouble. -

From what I've seen caps on the input side of a vrm have a much lower failure rate than the caps on the output side. I think the input side is much less stressful. Higher voltage, lower current. Lower current, lower ripple. Lower ripple, lower failure rate.Comment

I have a couple of IBM NetVista desktop computers from around 2000-2001. They have Universal Scientific Industrial (USI) Pro286i motherboards, 733MHz Pentium III processors, and a whole bunch of bad Teapo capacitors. One board has visibly bad and venting capacitors, while the other doesn't look too bad so far.
The board with venting caps works fine, while the good looking board occasionally refuses to power on unless it's left for about 30 seconds after connecting the power - even with a known good power supply. (I am however aware I'll need to check the PSU...3 Photos -

A ThinkPad T14s Gen 1 that stopped working more or less a month after the warranty expired. I tried to boot both Windows 10 and Debian 12 from a USB stick. In the first case, the system just reboots after showing the Windows logo for a few seconds, while I'm able to see the Linux kernel crashing if I boot the second in failsafe mode.
Interestingly, some times (unfortunately it's difficult to replicate) I manage to boot into Debian 12 live. Moreover, the kernel doesn't seem to crash always at the same point during...2 Photos - Loading...
