    Soyo SY-71S2 Cap Voltage Question

Replacing some caps on this board which was bought new about 2 years ago. Most all were Wendell's and it has 2 leaking and 4 domed.

Two of the larger leaking caps (3300 uf 10v) i replaced with Rubycons of the same value, and alot of 1000 uf 6.3's have been replaced already, but i have about four (1000uf 10v) caps that are the same size as the 6.3's and very close together above the cpu socket. I have enough 6.3 Rubycons on hand to replace these and they are the same size as the old 10v's.

I was wanting to ask if the 10v caps can be replaced with 6.3v caps ?

check the voltage with a multimeter, that will give you a definitive answer...
    Ludicrous gibs!

Thanks for the reply. I have a few 10v Nichicons around, but there to big to fit in this area.

i bet it will be ok to use those 6.3v caps. but better be safe than sorry...

just curious, what rubycon caps series do you use?
days are so short when you actually do something..

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
          by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...

          Hi all,
this unit comes from a samsumg LCD TV LE32C530F1W which stopped working after making a strong noise like something was exploded inside of it.
I opened it and found that fuse FP801S was blown, capacitor CP814 was completely disintegrated and MOSFET QP801S was shorted.
I replaced all of them and instead of the fuse I connected a 100 Watt bulb. Then, without connecting it to other TV boards, I switched it on, but the bulb begun to blink.
I thought that maybe the bulb was somehow interfering with the normal operation of the power supply, so I replaced it with a fuse,...

          Cyberpower 1500AVR UPS repair
          by quickname
I'd like to start out by thanking this forum for providing the info to be able to repair my 15 year old CP1500AVRLCD UPS. Here is all the info I gathered during my trouble-shooting and re-capping.

Like clockwork, I've had to replace the SLA batteries every 4 years. It was about that time and the UPS was acting like it needed new batteries... randomly shutting off with AC present, not being able to charge fully, and poor runtime when AC was removed. So, I replaced the batteries but noticed that it was not charging properly.

I decided to verify that the batteries were...
