• Re: Wanting to use poly caps

Yeah its a US motherboard.. Asus ...I really like the low profile of the poly's as well so really just wanted to replace all them in that area with those because of the heat as well. That is what always confused me about the poly caps is how you can use a 4v on a 16v rated area..just never quiet understood that and wasnt sure what to use to be safe.

• Wanting to use poly caps

My mothers motherboard needs about 8 or 10 caps replaced around the CPU area. I want to swap these for poly caps, but not sure what specs to use with those.

The old caps are:

1000uf 16v & 1500 6.3v

What would be the values needed to replace these with poly's?

Thanks.

Hi there

I got a same problem with my PSU like you had with https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=15732&highlight=DP50747

Replacing the diode fixed the burning fuse but now my green led stayes on for about 10 sec and then turns off. You mentioned replacing MR4030. Did replacing MR4030 helped? Did you get the TV working?

Thanks

• Help with Dell 1501 Laptop

Hey guys, I need some help with a Dell 1501 laptop motherboard.

I'm trying to identify a part that was damaged near the charging port so I can buy a replacement.
Below is a pic of the same model board with an arrow pointing to the part.

I know this isnt much to go on but a simular looking part was on the reverse side of the board and had: TXCefod 25.000 written on top. It appears to be some sort of crystal quartz peice but no clue on the exact part, type or specs. Hoping maybe someone here has addressed this or has a schematic to look this part up....

From what I can research online its a UF4007 Diode Circuit Protector

They are two diode's right behind the small blue cap in the area I put a square around & the arrow is pointing at....

OK, I checked that diode and it has a big hole in the top and is blown. Now I cant make out the part number that was on there. Anyone have a service manual? Anyone think that it would be the MR4030 IC voltage regulator that was at fault and started the chain reaction?

I checked the fuses and the fuse at F8201 on the power supply was blown and continues to blow them when the power button is pressed. Google search brought up that this usually means a diode at the D8302 location will be shorted as well. It continued on that these were replaced, but the TV would still not come on and they suspected the "MR4030 Partial Resonance Power Supply IC Module Supporting Standby Mode Operation" at the U8301 location.

• Sanyo DP50747-00 50" Plasma with Samsung innards

Bought this unit to see if it could be repaired.

TV power led comes on with a clicking sound, stays about 3 seconds and shuts off with a clicking sound. Nothing on the screen happens during this cycle.

Knowing most issues are PS caps I took the back panel off and to my surprise none of the caps looked bad. I went ahead and replaced all the output caps, even the small ones, with no change.

I disconnected the Y & X boards and tried power with no change.
I disconnected everything except the main control board with no change.

I haven't...

Yeah, somewhat, but a professional re-fret was near 200-300 and I needed the money so priced it to sell....

Couple of cool stories here.

* Friend scored me ten P4 computers and miles of network cable at the tax place she works. *
* Rich family down the street threw out P4 computer, looked to be mid 2000's.
I asked if I could take it and they actually told me no lol ..grabbed it from trash after dark*

My best find was at 16 years old.

My best friend talked me into going to a guys house with him who did tattoo's. While there, I noticed a guitar in the corner with no bridge pickup, but everything else. I asked...

• Re: Gateway FPD1830 Inverter

Just repaired the same model Gateway monitor by replacing the four Sanyo 100uf 25v caps on the inverter with two 220uf 25v Rubycon's and the fuse labeled "F1" that is right next to one of the caps.

Symptoms were; Power would stay on and blank screen.

• Re: Help with eMachines E19T5W LCD

Thanks for both replies. I 1st tried to boot into bios and let it sit there about 20 seconds and it started to repeat the issue so that eliminated a Windows setting. I took it back apart and recapped the control board as suggested and it now has been on the desktop for 15 minutes without any issues and the menu controls work great so that was the problem.

The control board had about 12 tiny caps made by Teapo . They ranged in value from 10uf, 22uf, 100uf and one 220uf.

Thanks for the help, and after a complete PSU and...

• Help with eMachines E19T5W LCD

This monitor was gave to me and wouldn't power on because of bad caps. I replaced all the caps on the power supply and now the monitor will power on and display perfect for a few seconds, but has an issue like its losing signal feed from PC once Windows loads. I'm using the VGA input because my PC doesn't have DVI outputs.

It will display correctly till Windows loads the Welcome screen and then it will go black a second or two, then display the test screen "no signal" icon, then go black again a few seconds, then display the Welcome screen with the "VGA Input"...

• Re: FSP Blue Storm II 500 (No Power)

Measured the purple and black wires and got nothing. Unit was plugged in, everything disconnected from PC, with just the power switch turned on the back of the PSU. Will try and get pics but couldnt spot any obvious heat or other damage.

• Re: FSP Blue Storm II 500 (No Power)

Checked the fuse, forgot to mention that. I can do recaps and such just dont have the skills and tools to do anything more than that.

Warranty would be voided once I broke the seal to look inside I think.

• FSP Blue Storm II 500 (No Power)

Lost power from this unit last night..its just over a year old. The PC was up and running and just shut off.

Now, the on/off switch on the back of the PSU lights up when switched on, but machine doesnt even try to power on. Checked machine with another PSU and it works ok.

I took a look inside and everything appears ok with no obvious burn or heat damage on top and bottom of the PSU board and the caps (CapXon) all appear to be ok with no venting, etc.

Anyone have a clue as to what might the issue with this thing? How much would one of you guys take...

• Re: Dell Dimension E520

Got a E521 in today with freezing and mouse power issues (all USB ports). It had a small 470uf 16v United Chem cap near the PCI slot swollen.

Cracked open the PSU and a mixture of Leon and Teapo caps with a few Teapo's swollen.

How about Elite brand? Just cleaned out dust bunnies from a very nasty PSU which is at least 2-3 years old and they all looked fine.
