    MSI MS-6337 Ver 1 815e Socket 370

MSI-6337 was acting possessed, windows was hanging periodically after a few years of good stable service. On checking for a reinstall, saw 7 caps bulging at the vents and with small release of brown electrolyte at the vents. Decided to replace the board in the pc before any damage done and keep for repair.

    Lelon (Taiwan) - 8 pieces 1500mf/10V - Visible Fail 7
    Tayeh - 12 pieces 1000mf/6.3v - Visible Fail 0

I would replace EVERY SINGLE ONE!! Even those not showing physical signs!! I've pulled probably thousands of bad Tayeh caps out of BP6's, KA7's, and many others. The Lelon brand I've never heard of but considering the fact that only 1 out of 8 isn't realy to explode is a good sign that the one holdout should be put into retirement!!

If you plan on recapping your toasted boards, let us know the outcome!

      Good Luck!!

        Thanks for the advice Topcat.
Regarding Lelon, it appears that SONY!!!! buys a lot of product from Lelon!!!!
Lelon's website appears out of order at the moment, like their capacitors.

              Re: MSI MS-6337 Ver 1 815e Socket 370

On this one, the smaller caps were bad - the big ones were OK (don't remember the brands anymore). And the heatsink holder on the CPU socket was damaged so I "fixed" it using a wire

What's with Kapton tape on vents?
                by redwire
Keysight puts Kapton tape over their larger electrolytic capacitor's vents.
To me, this looks mildly useless. Venting will still spray and make a mess, these are Nichicon VM's FFS, not CapXon.
Any ideas what this is about?...

                Capacitors with Inside-out Vents
                by RukyCon
I found some bizarre capacitors on a lamp driver board. When i saw them, i thought they were bulging (despite the board being brand new), but upon closer inspection, i realized that they must of stamped the vents from the inside of the can. I thought it must have been a quality control f--- up but looking at it, i think they must have done it intentionally because both capacitors are that way, despite being different physical sizes. Now all i have to wonder is, why?

Here are some photos i tried to take of their vents, though i might have to retake them with my DSLR as my...

Need help building a cheap ac dc adapter
                by mikey5791
Found these two pcb from my junk bin and unsure if i can reuse them to build an ac to dc adapter of 12vdc. If i remembered correctly, these pcbs could be from a damaged fluorescent light set box.
The first pcb is with 2A glass fuse, 4 pieces 1N4007 diode, one black inductor, 2 pieces 22uf250v big cap, one blue 630v ceramic cap, 2 pieces green 104k ceramic cap, another 4 pieces 1N4007 diode and one brown MZ2 cap. To me, this looks like the primary supply in dc form.
The second pcb has 2 pieces 13005 transistor on the side mixed with resistors, 2 green 334k green ceramic caps and finally...

                MSI K7T266 Pro (Ver. 1.0)
                by ssl6
                Hey Everyone,

Long time lurker, but I think this is my first time posting.

Just looking for some assistance on identifying some suitable replacement capacitors for an MSI K7T266 Pro (Ver. 1.0). I just got my hands on two of them actually, both working but one has some visibly bulging capacitors and the other has a few that I can't tell for sure if they're bulging because it's faint at best if they are.

I'll be honest I don't fully understand much on capacitor spec sheets beyond voltage and capacitance but I can solder like nobodies business so I've...
