    Shuttle MS51 Bad Caps?

Looking at a friends PC failed to POST and wont display anything. I assumed it was the Power Supply, but swapped out with a spare but no go.
Noticed some brown stuff on the top of a G-Luxon cap next to the RAM slot which led me to this site.

The G-Luxon caps next to the CPU are all bulged also. One of the large G-Luxon capacitors next to the VGA out connector is bulged and raised higher than its sister cap.

I am assuming BAD CAPS but searched on MS51 and cannot find any other boards reported. Any other ideas on failure to POST prob?

    Thanks in Advance

I'd just go with G-Luxon as the culprit, I've seen 3 mainboards on my desk, all non functional, all with G-Luxon... Junk.
Ya'll think us folk from the country's real funny-like, dontcha?

Sure it's not an FS51??? That's the motherboard that comes in an SS51G. I've got one that suffered partially melted +3.3V wires in the ATX connector. Looks like it had a loose connection, and it was just arcing all the time. Caps look good on it though. What brand of caps does your board have??

Thanks for the replie(s). gg1978 I am sure that it is a Shuttle MS51 board (refer pictured link below). There is no shuttle name on the board but MS51 is clearlyly printed and the board matches the picture. I had the ATX connector off when trying a temporary power supply hook-up. No evidence of any prob there and it still would not POST. I can confirm that the leaking one (plus other bulged ones) is a G Luxon (thus I found this website when I googled it up). The 6 bulged ones next to the CPU socket are mainly black (and plenty dusted!) and had RLX printed. I think these are OST manfacture? The remainder sprinkled elsewhere seem OK being still flat on top.

I will assume that because I searched this site for MS51 without a hit that I am the first to report a dose of BADCAPS for this mobo model/manufacturer.

Well, it appears that your friend's MS51 and my FS51 are about the same board, the difference is that the MS51 is microATX, while the FS51 is the really small custom form factor for shuttle XPC's.. I knew that shuttle made regular mainboards, but they're known more for their little Shuttle XPC's.. Sure does sound like you have bad caps though.
