    Via C3m266

I just purchased one of these:

    http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/...-l-cle266.html

The seller says it worked fine until the capacitors went and it got flakey.

I'm going to see if I can make a little project out of this and get it going again.

    Should be fun!

Good luck - there's probably 20+ caps to replace on that one.

The 1-channel switching voltage regulator incorporates 2 capacitors of 1500 uF and 12 of 1000 uF.
Shouldn't be that bad, I have plenty of the Panasonics leftover from our friends at Soltek! Plus I get to request "Engineering Samples" every once in a while.

MD, you are lucky to have friends at Soltek, especially if you get enginnering samples once in a while.

        Good luck with the recapping!

Sorry I meant I get engineering samples from suppliers at work. Not Soltek.

I emailed Soltek for some sample caps a while back and they sent me two packages of caps.

29 GSC caps total, 6 have not bulged, the rest are bulged or puking.

All others (less than 1000uF) are GSC as well...

I have replaced all bad caps with the Panasonic FJ's that I received from Soltek...

I metered the two pads for the 1500's near the torroids and they appeared to be in parallel so I tossed in a 3300uF... all others are 1000uF.

Now I need a Tualatin P3 or celeron and some DDR...

Heh well good luck at it. At least you have it working partially. I am surprised you have not gone up to an A64 yet though.

I have a Biostar on the way for my 3500+

To test the Via board I need to steal some DDR from the home PC...

                    Maybe this weekend.
