    Gateway GT5411E mobo D945GCLG1

I just received another customer PC that powers up, fans run at full speed but it will not POST. I opened the case, blew out lots of dust an found just one cap a United Chemi-Con cap with a swollen top. The capacitor reference is C6H1, 3300uF, 6.3vdc It is a KCG series. From reading the boards, this one is flagged as a crap cap. This cap sits right next to the memory stick.

Past experience has shown me that a PC that powers on with the fans running at full speed but will not POST is usually related to a memory issue. In this case the cap that is faulty is used to filter power to the memory sticks.

The last board I re-caped still did not POST after the re-cap job. I found that one of the memory sticks had failed as a result of the faulty capacitor. Once that part was replaced the board POSTed with out issues.

RTX3090 working fine but fans not spinning
    by emil_t
Hello guys. I have a problem with a PNY XLR8 GAMING RTX3090 graphics card. The problem is that it displays and works fine, but the fans don't spin at all. The problem occurred when someone else removed the fans in order to clean it and broke one of the fan connectors. He replaced it himself and after that, it wasn't working anymore. I guess he damaged something else in the process. What i have done so far: I found 2 capacitors next to the connector that were in a bad shape, he must have touched them with his tools - they weren't shorted, but i replaced them with similar ones from a similar card....

    Good Afternoon, Good People.

I know this will be an elementary little project for most if not all of you, but I thought I would write a post and get put on track, rather than bumbling my way through it with all kinds of trials and errors.

I REALLY would appreciate y'alls help.

This is the problem - My wife and I purchased a big ol Victorian/Colonial House in NYC two years ago. The kitchen is surrounded on 3 sides by exterior walls, there is also a 1/4 of the kitchen floor (ceramic tiles) that has a crawl space underneath, and the kitchen gets FREEZING cold...

dell e6540 boots to black screen (no dell logo)
    by jake-b
    good morning all,

i purchased a used dell e6540 laptop used 10 months ago from a vendor on ebay. intel i-7 processor, 16 gb ddr3 memory, 256 gb ssd., mobo la-9413p (rev 1.0 dated 2014-08-04). i've inflicted no damage on it since purchase but its past is unknown. starting 2 weeks ago it began to fail to boot (initially 9 of 10 boot attempts failed, now 10 of 10 fail). there was no new hardware or software added (i was using as a kodi video server). the post process doesn't complete and booting no longer displays the dell logo screen - screen remains black with no backlight. some other...

Xbox One Controller - Phantom stick activity (sticks completely uninstalled)
    by Aimbit
    Hi All,

I bought some used Xbox one controllers "as is/untested" and they both have the same issue. The joysticks go wild for no reason while plugged in.

    https://youtube.com/shorts/YTYtjUPkBX0?feature=share

I removed both joysticks assuming it was an issue with the sticks, but the video posted here is the activity of the sticks with no sticks installed! My only guess is one of the tiny IC's that reads the inputs is broken. There are two small ones near either joystick, and then one larger one. I found a replacement on Aliexpress for the larger one...
