I was wondering if you guys could help me identify these bad caps and tell me what I should replace them with.. :/ I've attached two pictures of each side of the cap to help provide as much info as possible.

Re: Dell XM091 (PowerEdge 840) - Help identify caps
Depending on the dimensions of the above cap, Badcaps.net sells 2 Rubycon MCZ versions of the 1800uF 6.3V cap just in different sizes. Choose the size that matches your United Chemi-con.

Re: Dell XM091 (PowerEdge 840) - Help identify caps
Excellent! I just ordered these:
https://www.badcaps.net/store/produc...products_id=37
The motherboard has 3 of these... one of them was bulging out and oozying out of the top.. the other two looked ok but I figured I'd replace them since they are the same kind of caps.Comment

Re: Dell XM091 (PowerEdge 840) - Help identify caps
it's an old thread but at year 7; i've noticed that my poweredge 840 has a bad cap. in fact, on ebay; i notice that the cap failure is always at the same point around the cpu.
i will be swapping in my backup server's motherboard and then recapping them; will post pictures then.Comment

by BowlineMy question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?
Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?
My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.

by abajorHi all, I've been trying to find some information about this 2024 DELL XPS 9730 Have found absolutely no board views or schematics anywhere.
The laptop suffered some minor water damage around a power mosfet which I cleaned up and replaced. From what I can tell that p channel power mosfet source receives a 12V rail when a power supply is connected but its not passing voltage through the drain.
When I plug in the USB C charger with battery removed I'm drawing .2A at 20V
With battery connected it stays at 5V
Under a thermal camera I can see that this component... - Loading...
