Nvidia MATS help please - 33 errors on two cards?

    Hi,

I'm new to MATS and can only use it after watching a Youtube video, downloading the one he linked to (version 400.184) and running it without changing anything. I have no great understanding of it.

I have 3 graphics cards in the house.

My son's - Palit GTX 1080 used for 3D games constantly.
Mine - Nvidia GTX 1080 not used for 3D games, just basic stuff.
Inno3D RTX 2080 I bought faulty hoping to repair for my son's PC.

Running MATS on my son's GTX 1080 gives a pass with no errors.
Running MATS on my GTX 1080 gives fail with 33 write errors on chip B1.
Running MATS on the RTX 2080 gives fail with 33 write errors on chip A1.

My card GTX 1080 works without problems for what I do. My son's works perfectly.

The RTX 2080 when doing a 3DMark stress test fails within a minute or two and goes to a black screen and the fans go to 100%. This was the advertised fault.

I've run it a few times on my GTX 1080 and the "failing bits" change each time.

Is it really likely that two cards both have 33 errors? Am I not running MATS properly?

    Please help. Thanks.

I've now tried the version by Lord of the GPU and that gives lots of errors on all 3 cards. The test runs as soon as that loads but maybe I need to change some parameters?

33 errors on MATS is a known MATS bug. It misdiagnoses the blinking cursor as an artifact and throws errors. The fact that it goes black with full fans on stress test indicates that maybe some connections under the GPU are broken and it needs a reball. Run a MODS test for that.
