Hi!
I'm looking for any experience about 2017 iMac with random shut down.
It's a working one but only I can use for 4-5 minutes, after shut down and cannot turn it again. But I tried it a few days later (5-6 days) and it works, and after 4-5 minutes crashed again.
All of the voltages fine on the board, and no visible damage or burned components or water damage. No shorts to the ground.
I replaced a couple components to find the problem: PSU, CPU, RAM, RTC battery, BIOS.
Only I find LCD backlight fuse dead caused by bad LCD cable, I replaced it to a new one and changed backlight fuse, but the common problem still occurs.
I think is it a reparable board, I hope I got any answer to solve it.
