Hi!
I'm looking for any experience about 2017 iMac with random shut down.
It's a working one but only I can use for 4-5 minutes, after shut down and cannot turn it again. But I tried it a few days later (5-6 days) and it works, and after 4-5 minutes crashed again.
All of the voltages fine on the board, and no visible damage or burned components or water damage. No shorts to the ground.
I replaced a couple components to find the problem: PSU, CPU, RAM, RTC battery, BIOS.
Only I find LCD backlight fuse dead caused by bad LCD cable, I replaced it...

Re: Schematics iMac A1418 820-3482-A
any idea for fix this logic board?
If I put CPU in socket I have a short on ppcpuvcc_s0_cpu circle.
no bent cpu socket pins, I,ve already tried it with a working CPU.

is it possible if ppcpuvcc_s0_cpu shorted caused by the CPU dead?

820-2733-A No power, no led
I have an 820-2733-A board no power on, no first LED (and other) but I have a good working PSU. I can check the 12V on the PSU and board but I think I have a short in PP12v_S5 line and that cause the black LED.
How can I find the short component? when is't plugged in nothing getting hot and everything it's looking fine on the board. I have external power supply.Last edited by boheman; 05-12-2020, 02:27 AM.
