no issues in the US... there was some static at first, but unplugging it from the main phone jack, the middle box on this pic:

that is only used if your phone is with the phone company, but ours is through our cable modem. once unplugged from the cord coming out of the main splice (far right box), then the static was lost and all was fine. you can see the cord hanging, i zip tied it to the new cord so it is out of the way.
also, no packet loss on the wire... no problems at all.
i guess phone standards are different on the other side of the atlantic...
