    Blank Samsung SyncMaster 930B

System is a desktop running Windows 7 and am using 3 monitors (930B is not working).

Seeing a blank screen even though display shows up in Windows 7 display settings.
I can change resolution and refresh rate but screen remains blank.
Device manager says display is working properly.

NOT seeing any "no signal" message (even when computer is off) and it seems like mouse pointer can be moved onto the blank display (doesn't stop at edge of working monitor).

Green (power?) light is blinking about 2 times a second constantly (even when computer is off).

    History:
Monitor worked fine for a while.
Then it started taking a while for my extended desktop to be displayed (only this monitor).
The amount of time waiting for it to start working kept getting longer and longer until it stopped coming on at all (with system up all day).

Took apart to look for bulging caps but they looked okay.

    Any ideas on what's wrong?
Does it sound like a backlight problem or bad caps (even though they look okay)?

    Thanks,
    Dave

Do you have multimeter? Check the fuse F301 near D105 (may be under white silicon)

      What am I looking for?

I don't know a lot about electronics (have replace caps in monitors thanks to youtube though).

      Thanks

there is a fuse that supplies voltage to the inverter section on the board, if it is open you will not have any backlights. If the fuse is open, one or two of the mosfets may be shorted

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair
          by momaka
Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

          Hanns.G Hi221 Monitor - Works For A Second & Then Blank Display
          by RetroComputingGrotto
I've got a Hanns.G Hi221 Monitor that works for a moment and then the display goes off but the power LED indicator remains on. If you power it off and back on again it does the same thing, it comes on and then the display goes blank. From a cold start it takes 10 seconds or so before the display goes blank but if you turn it off and then back on again after it already being on it goes blank a lot quicker so I'm assuming something is getting hot which is causing the display to go off.

I've uploaded a video of it happening on YouTube:

          I've taken the monitor...
