When I put the monitor back together, the backlight came on but the video (graphics) did not.

I pulled the small green computer board (next to the power supply board) from its mounting and reheated all of the connections on the white dual-row video connector (underside of the PCB) near the center of the board.

I suspect we will see more of this reheat-to-fix in the future, as the RoHS solder joints begin to deteriorate.

Thanks for sharing. I wouldn't have thought of that and will suggest that for future people.

Woke up a couple days ago to find my L1933TR would not turn on (power LED doesn't come on, screen doesn't light up, nothing). Googled looking for a fix and found this thread. I opened it up and sure enough C203, C204 and C207 are all bulging (Samxon GF(M)'s). I also checked the fuse with a multimeter which is intact. I figure I'll go ahead and replace all seven Samxon GF(M)'s while I'm at it (the ones listed in the first post). I've put together an order on digikey as follows:

1x Panasonic FM 470uF 25V
1x Panasonic FM 680uF 25V
2x Panasonic FM 1000uF 16V
2x United Chemi-Con KZH 1000uF 25V
1x United Chemi-Con KZE 33uF 63V

Would these be suitable replacements for the Samxon GF(M)'s or are there better quality/value caps I should look at? Also is there anything I'm missing?

Those caps are fine for this application. I myself use FM series for all my repair that required low ESR caps.

So I got the caps today, went ahead and did the swap, plugged everything back together before reassembly and turned it on. Power LED came on along with the backlights however screen was blank like with klaxon44. Display detected on my computer fine and the backlights powered up when I moved the mouse over to the screen but it was blank. Turns out stupid me had the connector that plugs into the display from the logic board upside down. Flipped it around and everything works just great.

I just wanted to thank everyone who contributed to this thread and cap recommendations. It's great to get my display back up and running for only $7.94.

I want to post a thank you. I ran across this thread from a Google search on this monitor. I replaced the caps and I'm using the monitor to type this. Money is a little tight right now so this was greatly appreciated.

I used the FM series caps listed above but the EE I work with suggested I go with caps rated for a higher voltage. I used 35V caps for both the 16V and 25V 1000uf caps and doubled the voltage rating for all the others. Here is my Digikey parts list:

1x P12400-ND CAP ALUM 470UF 50V 20% radial
1x P12402-ND CAP ALUM 680UF 50V 20% radial
4x P12405-ND CAP ALUM 1000UF 35V 20% radial
1x P10771-ND CAP ALUM 33UF 100V 20% radial

Everything fit into the original spot although it was a little tight.
