viewsonic va1912wb-3 vertical lines and color failure

    Hi everyone

Thanks a lot for the knowledge which I have acquired here. I successfully repaired two benq board based screens changing the 2c5707 transistors and re-soldering some points.
Now, I have this viewsonic va1912wb monitor with a series of vertical lines and lack of color as if it showed negative images.
I read previous threads about the va1912wb, quoting a recap procedure to fix the screen problems. I did a superficial inspection of the components and they apparently are ok and no burning points on the board.

I wonder if the recap procedure will fix it.

Thanks in advance, I attached some pics.

Your Power/Inverter boards look to be the newer version. Even though CrapXon caps are still there, I don't think that is the problem you have.

How's the OSD look? Does it also have this weird colour?

You can try to open those latches for the flat cable that runs from the Main board to the LCD panel. Pull out the cable and reinsert it all the way.

Likely the problem is your panel and it is not worth it to replace it with new.

Thanks lucky 13 for your answer.
The OSD has that weird color too. And it is not only that, coz the lines which are on the screen make it almost impossible read from it.
I was thinking that as a result of those lines the overall color of the screen was affected. I do not know if I am wrong.

Also, I pluged the flat cable out and pushed it inside again without success.

      What should do I do?

      Thanks again

I'd say 95% the problem is the LCD. I say this because of the very faint, whiteish pic you see.

5% chance it is the main board. But, you will need another main board to verify this.

You should put this away for future parts use and also note what you have discovered so far so you don't have to rely on memory.

Thank you lucky. I am going to store it. If you or somebody else is interested on the parts, just contact me and we can arrange a shipping.
