hi all,
Monitor VA912b by view sonic.
i had a question regarding a part that is missing from my board. Last week i was given a monitor by a friend who could not fix it..sounded good in the beginning but the fact that he tried to fix it and could not is horrible and i should have paid attention.
It had the bad cap problem, so i replaced all the electrolytic caps on there with exactly the same values and all was great and powered up the monitor and it worked fine for like 15 minutes. So i unplug it and next time I used it it would not stay on for a fraction of a second then turn off compleletly without the LED turning orange. Come to find out that the friend had removed a resistor while in the quest to repair it and never mentioned it.
The resistor is part of the power circuit on the DA19M001a. The resistor is missing now, and it was a blue resistor. I am guessing it was a current limiting resistor. The silk screen number is R100. Can someone tell me what the value of that resistor and its specification for me so i can order it. It was not a varistor i am sure.
Moral of the story: never work on something someone else attempted to repair especially if they do not have a clue what they are doing.
thanks
