    Viewsonic VA1912W

Hi Everyone I have a Viewsonic VA1912W with display problems.
I have established the monitor is working but the backlight is not working.
Is this a similar problem that Benq monitors suffer from with transistor 2sc5707 failures. Any help please.

Yes, the problems are similar - in each case the backlight isn't working.

Is it due to bad solder joints on the transformers? Possibly.

Would buying 4 2SC5707 and installing them fix it? No. The inverter design is different.

Open up the monitor, read this faq, take good pictures of the power supply / inverter board, attach them to your next post. One of the brighter people here will point out that the design is identical to an Acer monitor, and direct you to the appropriate thread.
