    samsung 205bw

I have been trouble shooting this non working monitor. The problem is that the backlight won't fire, only the blue flashing power light. My question is would it be possible for one of the 6 cfl's being bad and causing this problem? They won't light up at all.

In general a bad CCFL won't prevent the backlight from starting. I'm curious about the "blue flashing power light". How fast is it flashing? Does it ever go on steadily?

    Thanks,

    Bill

Thanks for the quick reply. I didn't think it would keep it from lighting but wasn't really sure. The blue power light blinks at a steady rate and never turns solid.

That indicates a problem with either the power supply or a corrupted eeprom. If the caps look good, google monitor reset.

The caps look good. I pulled it out tonight to have a fresh look at it and measured the voltage at the 2 caps before before the inverter and it had some pretty wild voltage swings like 5 to 15 volts. Ideas?

That sounds like a SMPS that is having startup problems.

Read this faq, then attach pictures (top and bottom) of the power supply / inverter board.

Samsung QE55Q60TAUXXU - flashing backlight and flashing standy light--no image
              by learnmore
              Hello Community!

              CASE DETAILS

Promblem Signs: Backlight on 1 sec off 7sec > repeat && Red standby light: 1blink, off 3 sec, 2 blinks, off 5 secs, 2 blinks, off 3 sec, restart cycle

13V present on powerboard output. Backlight continues flashing after removing cables to pannel one at a time and even with both disconnected. NOTE: backlight STOPs flashing and remains on when connector between powerboard and mainboard (note Tcon built in) is disconnected.

Tried inserting firmware on USB and left it in for a few hours, but no change

Samsung UE43KU6400U Flashing Red Standby Light
              by Bloopeta
Have a Samsung UE43KU6400U that will not turn on, just continuous flashing red standby light.
              Power button does nothing

Have unplugged the mainboard, and backlights illuminate.
Have tried removing panel ribbon cables one at a time, and that makes no change.

With mainboard unplugged, all voltages from powerboard seem ok, but with mainboard connected, they never quite reach full voltage, and drop and raise in a constant loop (in time with click noise from mainboard.

Using backlight tester, I get 63.6v on both sides, so seems like no bulbs...

Samsung UE46EH5000 - Flashing red light but not turning on
              by Phil289
              Hi
I aquired a Samsung UE46EH5000 from a lady that said it was turning on and off so she just purchased a new one.
On plugging into the mains and turning on i get a solid red light.
On using the on/off button or remote i just get a flashing red light in a pattern of flash/flash gap flash/flash gap flash/flash etc.
Opened it up and disconnected the main board from the power board by removing the connecting ribbon cable with the hope of getting either a 'no backlight' or a 'working backlight' but got neither,i just got a blinking backlight that turned on and off randomly...

Samsung plasma - flashing standby light
              by 7ony
The TV is a 2013 Samsung plasma, model # PN60F5300AFXZA.

Snagged it up in non-working condition a couple years ago. Previous owner said that sometimes he could get it to come on after repeated tries but other than that he couldn't get it to turn on.

Personally I haven't been able to get it to turn on at all. The standby light comes on solid when plugged in, but pressing the power button results in the standby light flashing once every 4 or so seconds. No "click" noises, no light from the panel at all. Just the flashing standby light.

              No visible...
