    Hello Carlos
Dont be to hasty with that capacitor, chances are there are a few more components that may have been taken out, eg mosfet or bridge rectifier and input fuse
Pictures of top and bottom of your board will be needed to get the best help for you
Maybe a kind MODERATOR will put this thread in the Monitor Forum where it will get better exposure and more help, please

When you said it blew, I thought you meant in bits and burned that you could not identify
Just ease glue away from cap and stand it up, you will find the info you need on it, they are normaly a G/Purpose 100uf 400V

            Hello bobdee,
I dont understand what you mean with ease glue away from cap and stand it up.
Do you think theres any more components broken apart from the capacitor?
Its the info that you can see on the side of the capacitor the one that i need?

I have had good look at pics and I dont see any thing out of the ordinary
That cap rarely goes under normal circumstances but you may be lucky and find its only the cap thats gone
                Was the fuse gone???
I suggest you check bridge rectifier and mosfet for shorts

Im not good on replacment caps others in the forum are
Yours is Elite 82uf 400V 105C PW series (probably general purpose)
You can put a 100uf 400V 105C G/P in there for replacement you seem to have room
Can another member suggest a replacement cap please

Ripple handling should be 500mA or better. Original PW is rated 500 or 520mA depending on diameter of can. 16 or 18 mm.

From digikey.com - both of these are 18mm diameter. Measure to be sure you have the clearance for them.

                          UCC KXG - 18 x 25mm, 610mA:
                          http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...me=565-1468-ND

                          or

Panasonic EE - 18 x 31.5mm, rating @ 120Hz not given. Following the KXG example though, I would surmise about 650mA:

Look for the size in the one you have, then look the size of the two Toasty suggests.

From PM - Yes, you can use a 100uF there. Do you already have it? Is that why you continue to mention it?

The 2 I gave you above are the correct value and rating for the ripple current, according to the one that was there. If you choose to use a/the 100uF there, then let us know 1st its brand and series so we can verify its fitness for use here.

Measure the diameter of the old cap and report.

                                Toast

...is there an echo in here...?

                                    Again in PM -

                                    Hello Toasty,
                                    Thank you for the reply.

No i dont have it yet i just thought that on the retail shop near me they will only have the 100uf 400v but i will only know that friday when they are open.

Can you tell me what the echo is?
You ask me for the echo but i dont know what it is.
                                    The mesure is 18x31mm.

                                    Best Regards

                                    1) Please stop the PM's. It helps everyone here if you post and ask questions here.
                                    2) If the local shop has them then you'll need to get the brand and series of the cap from them and post the information here for someone to review. No sense buying something that won't be correct for your power supply.
                                    3) 18x31mm is fine and either cap I linked will fit. It also means that the PW series was the 520mA ripple variety.
                                    4) The echo was it seems like I was/am repeating myself. Perhaps the humor is lost...
