Re: Chimei DAC-19M009 Power Supply problems

I am not 100% sure but I will worry about that later. I am 100% sure that one of the boards is faulty.

As a replacement I used leaguer and jamicon caps, which have been working before too (I have fixed 100-200 LCD-s using these caps)

I replaced 22uF 50V cap with 33uF 50V cap and the problem persisted.
Voltage across that cap is 12.5V

When I removed 5V rail fuse for testing, there was no clicking sound anymore while I had controllerboard connected. Just letting you know, maybe it helps with something.

Hmm, so are you sure the ccfls are good? if one is bad again the protection would kick in.
What make/series of caps did you use as replacements, and did you replace the 22uf50v startup cap - what voltage do you get across it?

Yes, I am aware of that but it has nothing to do with the problem at the moment. The problem is that there is a certain clicking sound and it does not start up (with or without CCFL-s connected, it doesn´t really matter)

Without bulbs connected the powersupply/inverter will go into protection and never start.

While I tested, I had no LCD panel even connected. Only the power supply board, controllerboard and buttonboard. Nothing else.

The model in question is VX2235wm

Boss - what monitor/model is it on - the bulbs and wiring on some chimei monitors tend to burn up.

Having a problem with the same board or maybe even with the other board.
It had bad caps so I changed them. Got the monitor working. A week later it did not work anymore. When plugged in, there is a clicking sound and 2 LED lights in front are blinking (I could barely see it) in the same tact as the clicking sound.

There is no clicking sound when the other board is not connected.

I tested out large cap - OK, rectifier - OK, SMPS has 11.7V - OK (according to datasheet), 13.8V - OK, 5v - OK. Removed F200 - still same problem.
    All caps have been replaced.

Taking in mind this information, is the problem hidden in power supply board or logic board/controller or whatever you call that.

Measuring the Voltage across the large cap is the first thing to check, and should be about 1.4 times the AC input voltage,,although the measurement will be DC volts. If that is fine, then on the bottom of the board is an 8 pin SMPS chip...find the Datasheet, and check what voltages you have particularly the Vcc pin.

I've recently acquired the VX2235WM monitor with the DAC-19M009. My issue is no power, no LED light. I've read through this thread and tried mostly everything in my ability. I have done electronics years ago in the Navy, but a little rusty on the soldering. Here's what I've done so far:

Visual Inspection - no leaking/bulging caps, no noticeable solder issues
Tested F200 and and F101 fuses -good
Tested the big cap (400V 120uF) - good
    MOSFETS tested good
Removed the startup cap and tested - good
    Bridge Rectifier tested good
Tested the pins connecting to the logic board, no 5V to be found.....

Not sure where to look next. Please bear in mind I'm waaaay out of practice with this, so you may get a response of "huh" or "how do I do that"

Thanks for any help you can offer

    Chimei DAC-19M009 Power Supply problems
I have the same problem with my power supply. I have tested and the fuse right under the power is blown. I have also tested the bridge rectifier it is bad. I have replaced both and still the fuse blows. I have tested the P10NK60ZFP and it tests good. my question is does anyone know what the transformer should test? the label on the pcb is LF100

I have the same ps board Chimei DAC-19M009 and have problem:
    it started few month ago.
when the pc was of the led was orange (no signal) when I turned the pc on the led turned off (now it has signal) and I needed to wait 3~10 minutes until the led turned green and the screen was on and worked fine . during this time that the led was off and the screen was off I was hearing high pitch sound (like caps charging sound ) and it was going on and off (sound-> no sound....)
so now the problem is that the screen not turning on even after 15 minutes the led returns to orange (windows power saving turns monitor off after 15 minutes idle) and if I move mouse it turning off again trying to turn on

I opened not the monitor and it looks like the board you are discussing on
and the 3 crapxon caps 220uF-25V and one 2200uF-10V are bulged at the top .

what do you think ?should it be the problem?
I found the repair kit on ebay:

    Thanks in advance

I would advise you to select the brand and type of capacitors according to this forum's post https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=2280
If it is like one i saw (the listing you posted has nichicons which are good overall) ask the seller what exactly type are the capacitors (e.g. PM, PW, HE etc.)
    Hope this helps.

Same here as Mishael guys! Great news!
I replaced all the C(r)apxons capacitors with Rubycon capacitors (1000uf-25v x 2 and 220uf-25v x 3) and the monitor works like a charm! The other capacitors seemed fine so i left them as they were.

Thanks for all of your support and advice!
Keep on supporting this great forum!

    Cheers!

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
    by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Modification to a ZD-987 desoldering/soldering station using a external switching power supply
    by sam_sam_sam
I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

Problems with a LINEAR power supply
    by Francesc V.
    Hi:

I bought an ebay kit to assemble a linear power supply. The following one that is explained in this page:

    https://www.qsl.net/z33t/dc_0-30v_0-3A_eng.html

The power supply seems to work, but I have the following problems I would like someone to help me.

    1. The input must be about 24-26V AC. My idea was to reuse a 30VAC 160VA toroidal transformer. But with this input the output doesn't go from 0-30V......it remains with some mV. And I guess will stress/burn some components. Do you see any possible modification to...

Definitive technology SC 2000 subwoofer amp's power supply clicking and popping
    by JimBanville
The sub developed a constant popping every couple seconds from woofer and power LED flickering with nothing but wall AC connected. Connecting an audio cable didn't change anything. It doesn't play but a second or two of audio in between the pops.
Opened it up and discovered the power supply is making a faint clicking or ticking sound.
I measured the amp's output to the woofer and it pulses up to 50mv DC to be driver. The pulses coincide with the power supply ticking/clicking.
I measured the power supply output going to the amp board and it too has this pulsing. Voltage cycles...
