    VX922 Power LED flashing

Hi, new to caps and everything but I've been reading around and it seems to be common for a viewsonic VX922 to have the flashing power LED problem due to bad caps.
I've taken out the power board etc but have no idea how to identify the bad caps, could anyone help an electronics newbie out? It'd be much appreciated!
    thanks

    Hi Tuckertime,

    Welcome to Badcaps.

Do you have a digital camera to take some pictures of your board?

I remember there are several caps near the top of the board (hold it vertically like how it is installed in the monitor with the ac jack on the bottom), these caps get baked over time by the aluminium heatsink.

    These are probably around 1000uF.

As suggested, post pictures. Also, capacitors can fail without any visible changes (swelling, leakage, etc.) I STRONGLY suggest replacing all caps, rather than trying to replace only the likely suspects. The additional cost is minimal (under $5), the reliability gained is significant.

If you are't sure, post the voltage, value, and series, and we will suggest replacements.
