Hi everyone,
I've been trying to identify the problem with my Dell 2209WA, which is pretty much identical to the problem described in this thread for a Dell U2711. I also have a visible "smear" on the same (right) side of the display, just like the one in these images and the video posted for the U2711.

I doubt that it's an issue with the panel itself, as when I run the LCD conditioning utility of the monitor, that smear isn't there at all, however it affects both the VGA and the DVI input. And before you ask, running the LCD conditioning doesn't make it disappear.
I have a suspicion that it has something to do with the circuitry and if it's something relatively easy to fix like replacing a few caps, I want to have a go, as I really love this monitor. Any ideas?
