Screen appear in black/yellow color

Recently my computer keeps giving me a same problem whereby the screen would suddenly turned totally black or yellow colors upon booting up or sometimes when i am already in the window.

For the about the first 20 secs when the screen goes down, im still able to hear the sound of the applications running on the window and then after that no sound is heard.Even so the CPU light is still running and the only way to solve it would be restarting my com for a few times. I am not too sure if it's my graphic card giving me the problem.

I am currently using a GeForce 8800GT and its less then a year old. Its only after the incident, i went to update my drivers but the problem still exists.I am a lehman in this area, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think you posted on the wrong forum, but anyway.
First of all, wolcome to the forums.
I had tat problem yesterday on my wifes computer. It turned out to be the nVidia card going down. I replaced it and that was it. You should test with another card, or first with another cable if you can, but I think you have a bad card in there ...

I have seen that when the problem was bad pin or wire in the VGA cable.
