    A question about VCOM ...

... I'm losing my time trying to understand how VCOM is distribuited
    within the panel matrix.

As you can see in this picture, VCOM is generated by SM4041 in this case ...
between the chip and VCOM test point there is a 10 ohm resistor (R65) ...
and there is also what looks like a resistor partition (R64-R63) connecting
back to the chip (probably some sort of feedback).

Now, the first thing I didn't understand is why R63 is not connected to GND
but instead is connected to a capacitor (C226) follewed by a 0 ohm resistor (R60). So I checked where R60 is connected ... and I found out that it's
connected directly to the matrix itself.
So, it's a sort of feedback but it doesn't check only VCOM but some sort
of balance between VCOM and a VCOM-FEEDBACK.

The point is that this panel has a problem ...even rows are OK,
but odd rows have probably a low VCOM on the left of the panel (and
it go down gradually getting worse and worse moving to the left).
As you can imagine, this cause a persistance image in part of the screen.

I'm just trying to understand if there is a way to hack the TCON
    and manipulate the VCOM.
I am also very interested in how VCOM is distribuited within the matrix
because I want to understand why the problem regards only the odd rows

This is more something I want to understand than a repair.

Do you have any idea how it works in the details?

    Thanks in advance.

PS: For the records, VCOM is just 4.1V with a VDD of about 12V and
    if you test R65 R64 R63 R60 C226 .... they are at the same voltage (4.1V).
So there is no current in their path. And none of the is shorted, they are all good.

MacBook Air A2337 (820-02016) - 5V, won't turn on - please help me understand why
    by mkdj
    Hello everyone,

About me, my goal and the equipment I (don't) have:
I am brand new to this forum, and I am eager to learn about repairing laptops. I have an engineer background although I haven't done electronics for a while. I have watched several Youtube videos in the last two months, trying to understand how to diagnose a faulty motherboard. I have a USB-C Amp meter and a classic multi meter. No DC Power Supply to inject voltage, no soldering iron to replace components.

About my issue and my goal:
A friend of mine has a MacBook Air M1 A2337 that does not...

Missing LCD Panel Voltages VGH, VGL, VCOM (TCL 55P6US Sound & Backlight but NO Picture)
    by maneatingmonkey
I have a TCL 55P6US with sound and backlight but no picture. This model does not have a T-CON board, and the right (rear perspective) panel board is fed from the left panel board. I have not been able to induce any change by disconnecting the secondary panel board or the tape cut-off method on the primary board.

There are a bunch of voltages missing on the panel boards. I can't find any shorted caps of the panel boards, and all of the missing voltage rails read in the kiloohms, which leads me to suspect the issue may lie on the circuit board, rather than a short in the panel.

I'm looking at buying this faulty monitor. This fault doesn't look like a panel issue. I suspect it is something with signaling. A bit of your experience would be greatly appreciated....

I ask some good person for help on "@" character and how to understand the indicated
    by gabri2211
Greetings to all of you, as you will understand from the questions, I'm not familiar with electronic diagrams .... from theory to practice there is always an abyss :o)

1 - I often find the "@" character in the electronic diagrams of laptops near the component and I'd like to understand if it indicates a component that may not be present in the real hardware execution or if there is a different explanation for the use of this @.

    2 - I write these examples:
    2S@ PC217 0.22U_0603_16V7K 16 volts (max) what does it mean 7K ?

Trying to understand how to find best replacement cap for old parts.
    by samoelec
Disclaimer: This is the first time I step into the realm of analog electronics and my natural language is not English, so please forgive me if I failed to use the correct terms when describing things.

Recently I purchased a Tektronix TDS1012, a 20 years old product for cheap and I thought it could be a nice opportunity for playing (i.e. recapping) and learn something in the process.
The power supply board is exactly the same from this post so I'll just steal it for now.

I'm trying to find replacements for all those Lelon electrolytic caps, but then quickly...
