Dell 193FP

This monitor has no back lighting. I have checked the inverter transistors they check OK without power and clearly do not draw heavy current with steady power because the standing voltage supplying them is 13 volts. When the power is turned ON the screen image flashes briefly. Has anybody experienced this monitor? It is as though the backlighting is switched off with an overcurrent.

A circuit diagram would be useful if it can be found. ????????????

I am pretty sure that the problem is found. One inverter transformer has a 780ohm resistance the other is open circuit > 20megohms. Does anybody have a spare transformer around? Has any body taken any secondary ohm readings on the transformers in this monitor?

A picture of the inverter board, may be help identifying it as a more widely used board. Perhaps somone has one with transformers on it!!!

I traced the circuit around the transformers and found that it might run without one transformer because both are driven (in parallel) by the same two MOSFETs. However I found that this did improve the screen on time but there is apparently a feedback that monitors both transformer output currents and therefore terminating the display.

Cost of board US$49.95. This is Ok as the monitor was picked up for zero dollars.
