    Samsung SyncMaster 204B

    Hey guys,
So I have a Samsung SyncMaster 204B that when plugged in the power light would flash on and off. I opened it up and sure enough there were 3 bad capacitors. I've replaced these capacitors and now the monitor when plugged in just has a solid power light. Pressing the power button doesn't seem to do anything. Any ideas where I should be looking next?

Search Computer Displays subforum for "204B", there’re other threads dealing with this same monitor and I’ve seen at least one that could be your solution (clear EEPROM).

I'd open it back up and check all the cables, ribbons, and plugs. Chances are, something didn't get plugged back in.

Hi thanks for the replies. I've actually read those posts and tried clearing the EEPROM and nothing changes. All cables have been checked, haven't even put the monitor back together yet

I have a similar issue with a Samsung Syncmaster 225BW. Monitor used to take forever to turn on like it had to be warmed up. I opened it up, saw 5 bad caps replaced them all and put it together now when I power it on the light stays solid blue but screen is black. Did the flashlight test and saw that there was a picture. Could it be that
          1) the capacitors I replaced are bad or one of them could be bad.
          2) Another component went bad such as the inverter on the screen
          3) could it be something else

You also should re-solder some cold solders on power PSU,and also clean the hard glues too,i have a Samsung Sync-master 2493HM dead with blue led on that i fixed just by re-soldering and cleaning hard glues.
