I just had that exact model monitor open unfortunately your post came too late I've already reassembled it are recapping.

If you could take a picture of the board and the IC in question I can provide more info.

Also write everything down off of the IC including all of the numbers.

I think you are referring to a through hole 4 pin IC correct? If so thats the PWM controller for the main power supply.

The PWM for the inverter is the largest SMT IC located under the board.

Originally the monitor wouldn't turn on i changed U805 (smt) pwm controller, that fixed the turn on problem. Now the problem is i only get a momentary flash of the ccfl's. I have a enable clock signal going to (U1) on the inverter part of the board but the output of it (U1) is just one short pulse. I'm sending a photo with the chip noted on it and the writing on it.

What makes you think that that IC is the issue?

It sounds like a protection circuit is kicking in or another component in the inverter PWM has failed it probably failed when the PWM IC bit the dust.

Its not uncommon for multiple components to fail in the same circuit.

Also does the green light remain on after the CCFLs turn off or does the green light shut off?

Another thing to check is connect the monitor to a video source and when the CCFLs shut off turn the lights out in the room and shine a flashlight onto the LCD.

Do you see an image? If yes the primary power supply is functioning and feeding the LCD logic board that means your problem is in the inverter circuit.

If you can't see anything then the primary power supply is shutting down and the inverter isn't the culprit.

I was able to find a replacement board if you think the monitor is worth it its a good price:

If you still want to troubleshoot your current board post back.

Well seems i have all the required signals needed except the output from U1. I have the signal from pin 52 of the LCD Controller going to the chip U1, but it is being driven to a high level by pin 4 of the U1. Yes i have a image on the screen..I still would like the chip number or what it is.

I searched for those numbers but nothing comes back. You are going to have to replace the board or look for another one of these monitors that is junk, ebay is your friend, look for one with a busted panel.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Looking for help with a Viewsonic VP230mb where the backlight comes on only momentarily
                  by lostone
Hello, I came here after finding some similar questions asked on other monitors and hope someone here can help me get an ancient Viewsonic VP230mp (23" 4:3 LCD) back to working condition.

First a little background, I have a background in computer and electrical engineering, and I'm smart enough to know I know nothing about LCD displays and how they work. For this topic I'm as green as they come.
When the display is turned on the viewsonic logo displays in the uppper left for 2 seconds then the screen goes black, the power LED is green (on) and when a computer is connected...

                  Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

                  More Details

Got the same exact TCON board from TVPartsToday and replaced it. But didnt transfer the EPPROM data (didnt...

                  Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
                  by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
                  CN6401
                  Pin 01 NC
                  Pin 02 NC
                  Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
                  Pin 04 "N/C"
                  Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
                  Pin 06 "GND": N/C
                  Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...
