Viewsonic LCD monitor bad. Need help identifying bad part.

I have a Viewsonic monitor VX2739wm that is getting a picture but going to a blank black screen after a second.

I opened it up and all the capacitors look fine but a part labeled T2 looks like it is burnt out.

See images of the bad part.

There are some additional pictures of the board and manufacturer, model number etc but it seems like no one has the board in stock.

Would anyone know how I can get a replacement for the T2 part that looks like it has burnt out?

    Thanks in advance! Sincerely, David

That is the Inverter transformer with burnt out high voltage winding.
    http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nk...+Samsung+710MP
It can burn out if you have bad lamps, you should also check the components that drive the transformer to make sure they are not damaged.

      Budm,

Thank you for your quick response.

I am really a serious newbie. When you say "you should also check the components that drive the transformer to make sure they are not damaged."

Are you saying that I should visually inspect them or something more involved than that?

Thanks again for your help with all of this!!!

      Sincerely,

      David

You will have to test the SMD components on the bottom side of the board, especially the MOSFETs that drive the transformers to see if they are shorted out or not. If they are bad then you will need the tools to do surface mounted repairs.
Checking the lamps will be a lot more difficult due to you have to take the LCD panel apart down the lamp assembly.
Transformers are not cheap so you can take a chance and spend $42 on the board and hope that the lamps are OK.

            Budm,

I have been unable to find the transformer anywhere SP1 8TC00541. Is there an alternative transformer that I can use instead of this one?

            Thanks,

Help identifying voltage regulator on this concept 2 pm5 monitor pcb board?
              by artvandalai
This Concept 2 rower pm5 monitor doesn't shut down. It keeps turning on and stays on after being turned off. I read on another forum by another user that replaced the same component to check the voltage regulator.
The monitor should pull around 35mA when turned on and in shutdown it should drops to around 0.060mA. Any advice on finding the voltage regulator on this board to check if it needs to be replaced?

              AOC AG493UCX 49-inch monitor - Firmware request
              by wattage
              Hello Badcaps Community,

I purchased a preowned AOC monitor that is not working and out of warranty. It was sold as not working. I am looking for guidance on self-repair. In particular, I am after the firmware for the monitor. At the end, I have included monitor model information and links to pics and vids of the issue.

The problem is that it will not display a picture on any of its inputs. And the on-screen menu does not appear. The power button works properly. It powers on with the remote as well. But the on-screen menu does not appear, even when not connected to any...

              Hi There!
I'm trying to help my friend who owns a restaurant be just bought.
He has a very long LED strip running along all the walls and columns. The strip is attached facing down 2in above the floor, using a wall panel that ends in a metal rail that finishes the panel underneath
It's stuck using, I guess, the 2 sided tape that comes with the strip
The issue is that like 1/2 of the full length, including 1/2 one wall, another entire wall, and one column, flickers after 4 or 5 minutes ON. Particularly it flashes staying OFF most of the time and flashing ON for 1 tenth...
