KDS XFlat 19" CRT out of focus

I've got a CRT here at work that suddenly went out of focus this morning. Any thoughts on causes, and if it can be fixed? IF it were a 15 or a 17, I wouldn't bother, but the 19 might be worth it if it's an easy fix.
    Ludicrous gibs!

If it suddenly went out of focus as opposed to a long, slow dimming/ fuzziness, its probably low voltage on the 140v. Check the caps is the ps section for a 160v-200v around 100uf to 300uf.

I have a 17" KDS that did the same thing. It has a very touchy focus knob on the flyback. Maybe that is the problem you have as well. Check solder joints and caps while you're in there too.

The reason your focus went fuzzy is because the focus voltage supplied through the flyback dropped.

If the brightness is still fine try turning the focus POT on the back of the flyback with the monitor running. If that fixes it close it up and let it run and see if it slips back out of focus again.

It could be that one of the resistors inside the flyback voltage divider bit the dust causing the voltage to go off.

It couldn't be the supply voltage if it was the brightness would have dropped too.
Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

There's probably a bad joint or bad cap somewhere in the flyback section - start by reflowing all beads that look dry or suspect. Then think about replacing caps.

Tatung VM9AF 9 in. VGA Monochrome - focus lost after recap
              by vom513
I just recapped one of these (Tatung VM9AF). Now the image is badly out of focus. Mainly on the horizontal.

Rear focus pot. doesn't help in any meaningful way.

Anything else I can look at ?...

Not having the best of luck with my own gadgets atm - I own two identical X15 R2 laptops, both have died suddenly with no prior issues. I have time to focus on one of them and in this post. I might need some hand-holding with this so I kindly ask for some understanding

CD player focus and tracking adjustment
              by PowerAmpFreak
Hi all I have a Krell KPS-28c hi-end CD-player which I replaced the laser since the old one had very low RF output.
Now the RF level (eye pattern) is about 1.8V peak to peak.
The problem is it skips like 5-10 times per CD.
I have been looking into focus and tracking errors and try to diagnose.
              The CD-drive is a TEAC VRDS-7.
On the focus error testpoints there are some jumps in the waveform while I see not such issues on the tracking error testpoints.
Anyone know the procedure of an adjustment of this drive?...
