Acer H243H Black after 10 seconds

Thought this might be an easy one but turned out not so. I have an Acer H243H monitor only a couple years old and when I turn it on it's good for about 10 seconds then the backlight goes out. I can still manipulate with the buttons on front so it's not the whole monitor just backlights. There is no hissing like inverter arching and I measured the inverters and both are within about 3% of each other. No bad looking caps or anything burnt or bad solder joints I can see.I have 160V at the main cap all the time. Not sure where to go on this one.

The hissing may be coming from the lamp assemblies due to bad wiring at the and of the lamps. Can you smell Ozone?

You read that wrong the is NO hissing.

Hissing or not these big acers often have problems with burnt wiring as bud says. Follow the link in his signature and make up a couple of test bulbs.

Yep, made one quite a while back. Guess I was not thinking. I took a bulb I had from a smaller monitor out and tried it on both and found one side must be bad as they stayed on but where can I get a replacement bulb/bulbs??

ccfl warehouse - also have a ebay site may also be under Plazmo industries.
You may need the length and diameter - I understand they can be quite helpful.
If you can wait may be able to get them from china.

Best to check the wiring at the bulbs first - may just need a clean up and resoldering
