    Acer P235H ILPI-129 Issues

Working on an ACER P235H. Works GREAT only if I keep the Brightness down to about 32... if it goes above 40... screen goes black. I have taken it apart and checked the caps, but they are not bulged. hard to see the name on the sides, so not sure what brand names these are... they are brown in color.
I have had this monitor running for about 15 hours and it is still on.. at the low brightness setting. I am thinking the CAPS are somewhat out of spec and if replaced, should allow me to raise the Brightness setting.
What does the forum think..... am I on the right track?

    NightHawk.

PS.... no pics at this time as I have it running with the low settings right now.
    Power supply is the ILPI-129
There is a CAP kit on the bay for about 17 bucks, says it uses Panasonic and Nichicon type caps. it has both set of caps in it for the power supply and the VID board. with it being 5 years old ( bought in 2009 for $109.99 on sale) I figure 17 bucks for a "fix" is not a bad deal.
    What does the Forum think?

caps might work but there is a chance that since this has bulbs sandwiched on the top and the bottom that a bulb or two could be causing the issue

Recapping it would be the cheapest and easiest place to start

A few members have had problems with cap kits from ebay. A bit more work but probably best to work out what you need and buy them from a know reputable dealer - digikey
mouser or even badcaps.net if they have what you need.
      Post the ebay link?
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Scott is a friend of my that I help and suggest what caps to use. A lots of picture of the boards on his site are from me. I wonder if the lamps may not get hot enough at low brightness for the bad connection on the ends of the lamps to make poor contact and caused the inverter circuit to shut down.

I am thinking this may be the issue.... so far I have had this running for approx. 30 hours plus on the low brightness setting. its OK... and its usable.... but it is just not like it was when it was new. "all Bright and Shiny"
SO with that said... I think I will tear this thing down this weekend and check out the Lamps and see what I can find.
Will take some pics while I am doing this too.

Also I think I need to do some reading on here concerning the lamps and a "how to" on checking them for problems.
Any suggestions on some good lamp trouble shooting posts?

I suggest people to build two of these test lamps to verify the inverter function:

It save lots of troubleshooting times.
Here are some pictures of what goes wrong with lamps.
