I picked this monitor up hoping to repair it; when it comes on, it has a buzzing sound that gradually goes a way. The image looks good at first, then the lower half of the image gets darker and starts flickering. I have run it for some time now, and the monitor has not gone dark, and the image is still bright enough to read. I haven't opened it yet, and hoped to get a prelim 'scouting report' from the members here.

Re: HP W2338H flickering and buzzing
Cant tell anything from that picture certainly looks better than the crap laptop im working on.
Dimming and flickering and buzzing tends to be Bulbs/ associated wiring or
inverter transformers.
You need to take it apart and find out what is buzzing - does a noise accompany the flickering - have you any spare bulbs.another panel? Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: HP W2338H flickering and buzzing
Do you have AM transistor radio? If you do, tune it to the blank station on the dial, then put it close to the panel, apply the power and turn on the monitor, listen for the static on the radio to see if it in sync with flickering on the screen, if it does, then you more likely to have arcing going on in the panel due to bad wiring on the lamp's ends.Never stop learning
